Has anyone ever done this? It's an add on you can book via disneyland.com. How does this tour work? It says it's 10 hours. Any experiences? DD18 really wants to see Hollywood Blvd. We will be going to USH for 1 day but would like to take another day for other things in Hollywood.
My planned dates are May 29-June 5 (7 nights). Car rental.
My 2 hotel options are
1. Hilton at Universal for the 1st 2 nights, then drive to a Disneyland hotel.
2. Stay at a Disneyland hotel for the entire 7 nights

I can drive from DL to Universal with no problems but driving to Hollywood Blvd. would set me into a panic. :scared1: What would be the best option for me to avoid driving to Hollywood Blvd? Would it be more convienient to stay at the Hilton or could I get a good tour from DL?
Sorry if I sound confused...because I am. Been to DL and USH tons of times, but never to Hollywood Blvd.

You will probably get others saying the same thing, but don't plan on much time on Hollywood Boulevard. I totally understand wanting to see it (I am planning to go there with my family on our visit in the summer), but it's not something to allocate a whole day for. It's a rather grimy not-the-safest-feeling area, and is probably not something to allocate a whole day for.

Between seeing the stars in the sidewalk and looking at the foot/handprints at the theater, you won't need more than an hour. You could expand that - e.g. see a movie there, maybe at the Disney theater (El Capitan, I think?), shop at Hollywood&Highland, tour the Kodak theater, maybe see the Cirque du Soleil show at the Kodak theater (I have a post about that elsewhere, but haven't heard any responses about whether it's worthwhile), do a bus ride (I think some go aroudn to see a much wider area) and turn it into a longer event. But, I don't think you need to plan a whole day around seeing Hollywood Blvd.

If you've driven to other parts of LA, I don't think you'll have any trouble driving to Hollywood. I don't know that much about parking (I expect there is plenty near the Hollywood & Highland center, but you might need to pay). But, another option, if you happen to already be near another stop on the Metro (I think the Red line) is to take the subway there. There's a subway station right there at Hollywood and Highland, and you can go out, see that area, and get on the subway right back. I've used the subway several times, and it's not bad. Don't go out of your way to do this, but if you do happen to be near a stop to begin with, it's really convenient.

Keyser is right! Definitely not an all-day affair. I'd stay at Disneyland the whole time and just use your rental car to visit. Park at Hollywood & Highland... they will validate your parking if you eat at one of the restaurants or buy something at a select store.

It's cool to see the handprints and take pictures of the stars on the walk, but after a block or two in either direction away from the theater, it really just smells like trash and pee :rotfl:
