I'm looking over menus for our upcoming trip and see that this place has two combo meals for 2 people (a meat choice and a fish choice). My question is twofold:
Can these meals be ordered on the dining plan?
If so, can they be shared by more than two people?

Also, if anyone has tried these meals I would love to hear your opinion.

I apologize for not having any DDP information on a DDP forum, but I a can speak to the quality of the food. I was all set to be underwhelmed after seeing the menu there, but absolutely love the seafood combo meal. I actually ate the shrimp, and I normally hate shrimp. It has a good bit of spice, but is not incredibly hot. The fish and scallops were also very good. The beans were so good (to me, at least) that I asked for more... I usually ask them to hold the beans at Mexican restaurants.

If I recall correctly, the cost per person for those plates runs right there with the per-person cost for the other entrees there, so it seems likely that DDP will work just fine as long as you use two credits on that entree.

I can speak to all your questions.

yes, two people on the dining plan can order the combo meals (spending one credit each.)

No more than two people can share the meal on the dining plan (the party of 4 next to us wanted to order one combo platter and one entree to share among their group of 4...waiter told them no, they needed to order either two combo meals or one combo and 2 separate entrees...he insisted the combo platter was for 2 people only on the dining plan.) Now I suspect you could probably pay cash and share it among a table with more than 2 people, if you were also ordering additional food...but the non-Disney restaurants do tend to be sticklers on "the rules" for the dining plan, so if it says "for two" on the menu they will insist that's what it is for, period. Via Napoli is the same way with being tight on the one entree per person on DDP.

Hubby & I had the meat version of the combo and really liked it. I don't care for spicy food at all, hubby likes medium-hot. We both found plenty of choices on the platter we could enjoy. It is definitely enough food for 2 people...but probably would not be enough for 3 unless you had very small appetites or unless you were getting appetizers too.

Thank you both for the information. I am happy to hear that the food was good, but sorry to hear about the rules regarding sharing. We are travelling with my SIL and her brother who are from Peru and asked for some Hispanic/Mexican food. We have already "spent" our dining credits on other meals, but figured if we shared a few meals at other TS restaurants, then we would have enough credits to get these two platters to share for a light meal. I didn't realize that they were not a Disney-owned property. Will have to do some research to find out if any of the other places we are planning to visit are also not Disney-owned. Am very happy to have this information now rather than while we are sitting in the restaurant however.:scared1:

I think it must be hit and miss on the dining plan being shared there. We were able to share the meal for 2 among 3 people. However the 3rd person ordered a side salad and paid cash while we used two credits. (Not sure if that made a difference.) There was more than enough food.

We also had the fish one and thought it was delicious! It was a tad spicy but not overpowering. We loved the corn that came with it.

La Hacienda is not operated by Disney.

These types of restaurants tend to be more strict about dining plan allotments than Disney restaurants are. There are also reports that they don't allow ordering an individual pizza for 1 credit at Via Napoli on DDP and sharing it among two people. It's not always the case at all non-Disney restaurants though.

For information, the restaurants at the following Epcot pavilions are not operated by Disney:

Mexico
China
Morocco
France
Japan
Italy
