DFTW confirmed my ceremony date, time, and location, so I probably ought to start a PJ. . . the date is in six months! It's as under control as it could be. This is a second wedding for both of us. We are both in our early 40's, divorced, with children.
How did this happen? We decided on short notice to go for a February 2012 wedding after realizing that, due to my custody agreement (which changed in August 2011) and the schedules of everyone involved, we needed to do this wedding soon or wait for another two years. February 2014 will be my parent's 50th anniversary, and my mom has been having some serious health issues this year, so we decided February 2012 it is.
Who are we? I'm the bride. My first Disney vacation was during WDW's first year of operation. My grandparents took me the year before I started kindergarten and we stayed at the Polynesian. I remember thinking it was all real. I've been back many times since, as well as to DL and on DCL a couple of times. I've loved making the magic with my kids, who made their first visit at the ages of almost 4 years, and 4 months, and I've been a DVC owner for about five years (SSR and AKV). My brother and SIL live in Orlando, and my parents winter on the Gulf Coast, so whenever my time with the kids includes February vacation, we are in Florida.
DF, aka Oscar, is from Guatemala and has been living here for about 11 years. We had some romantic weekends away when I didn't have my kids, but our first real vacation together was WDW (with my kids, his ex refused to let his kids come with us) in April 2011. It was his first time at Disney and he says it was the best vacation of his life, so it was only natural to choose it for our wedding. He is a big fan of the HBO show Boardwalk Empire and recently bought some spectator wingtips, which sparked the theme for the wedding.
The Details Here's what we have planned so far:
February 20th - Dinner at Chef Mickey's, followed by Wishes Premium Celebration Cruise (If you see us, boat will have Birthday, not Wedding decorations.)
February 21st - Ceremony at SBP, followed by dinner at Citrico's
February 23rd - Dinner at 'Ohana to celebrate my son's 8th birthday
(I've made other dining reservations, etc... but these are the big celebration related events that everyone is going to attend.)
One word of warning. . . this wedding is going to be organized very out of order, like the way many movies are shot, but I have it under control, so don't get too dizzy!)
