Sorry if I got the name wrong. Has anyone been there recently? What is the menu like these days? Any must tries? Thanks!

We went there and spent quite a good deal of time in the cave. It's a little blurry towards the end. I'm pretty sure we ate a scorpion that was in the bottom of a bottle.

Although the food menu is more limited than it used to be they have some good snacks. The shrimp cocktail was OK, but not to go out of the way for.

We enjoyed the Chips and Guacamole along with an array of margaritas. I think we tried most of them before the weekend was over. The tequila selection is superb. It is a highly recommended stop on a drinking crawl of Epcot.

Last visit was in April. I was sad to see they had taken the flautas off the menu (the mini tacos). However, Francisco, who is still there from my understanding, apologized and made sure we had a MASSIVE bowl of fresh and chunky guacamole with extra chips in place of it.

If Francisco is working, make sure to ask him if the guac is good that day. We make that a daily stop on our trips and he is honest. He says not today, if he doesn't feel the avocados or tomatoes are the freshest- mind you, they are still good for the avocado margaritas. But, too ripe avocados are not good in guac but excellent sliced or an extra flavor-enhancer in the margaritas. (I don't think Disney would ever put out an inferior food product.)

My DH's fave is always the jalapeno margarita when eating the guac. Mine is definitely the spicy shrimp ceviche shooters with a cucumber margarita.

Going to be walking into The Cave in just 6 days. Can't wait! I'll send an update!

I dream about this place still...
And will be returning ASAP my next trip. The queso was AMAZING. I'm one of those people that goes to Qdoba and gets nachos without queso. Not a queso fan. But when we went here this past September they had a plate ready (ordered chips and guac but they had a plate with guac, salsa, and queso ready so we accepted that). AMAZING. And DH loved the salsa (not a salsa fan myself but he raved about it).
I had the avocado margarita after reading about it in a dining report and it was so much better than I was expecting. Tried to find the recipe but I can't. The avocado made it so smooth! DH had some blue type margarita. It was okay, but he got in on the rocks and I like mine blended.

I want to go back so bad. And I would have never even thought of going in if it weren't for these boards. So helpful

Way, way too many people sit permanently at the bar which is specifically labeled "to go bar only" ... The manager said he could do nothing about it. People, please folow the rules.

As to the menu, it is nothing more thanmunchies now.

Can you walk in and just get a margarita to go? Or try a shot real quick?

The crab tostadas are back on the menu.

Yes. And you can't sit at the bar, there are no stools or chairs at the bar. But you can stand there. And yes, I do stand there for awhile if they aren't busy.

It clearly says "to go bar only" ... So standing at the bar for multiple drinks is NOT what they want, but sadly they will not ask you to move on. So, please, do it out of courtesy.

I am not sure where that sign on the bar is...is it new? I have never seen it, but I haven't been since April. But when I go to WDW, I do go there every day!

Yes, you can get a shot or a margarita to go.

I LOVE the crab tostadas! That is nice to know.

Peter Pirate, I would love to see that sign. Do you perchance have a picture? I go there a lot, and I am very gracious when I am there. I move over and don't block other paying customers from getting their drinks, which in turn means more tips for the bartenders. As a matter of fact, I have asked point blank if they would like us to move, but would you tell someone you have seen for 5 days straight, who orders a flight and 2 margaritas, as well as food (and that slaps down a fabulous tip) to move? Especially one who is standing there drinking what is on the menu, is a lot of fun, and who can help you sell your product better than you can?

I am courteous-trust me. I move out of the way so that others can get drinks. But, it is one of the few places in the World that I can go and enjoy adult beverages without being bombarded by Disney.

Other people go to hard ticket events early, or use FPs late, or break in lines. I stand at a bar and drink in peace. Maybe that makes me a horrible person, but so be it. When I see the sign, then I will follow the rules.

I'm a rule follower.

Yes, they do have the sign. They started putting it up during the Food and Wine Festival because the place gets slammed on weekends then. I don't know if it is still there. But, sorry, if they aren't busy I don't see why I shouldn't stand there and chat with the bartenders. If they are not busy, then "courtesy" doesn't enter into it because nobody is waiting. They are trying to keep things moving when the bar is slammed. Of course if they're busy and there is a line outside I will move as soon as I am able to get my margarita and pay for it.

Is that sign up during the F&W Festival only? I'm not saying that I don't believe anyone, by no means, but I have never seen that signage. I was a bartender for years; I understand the need for turnover so I am always respectful of that. That is why I tip enormously to them. But I would definitely not stand there if I saw a sign. Seriously.

Where is it posted?

I have not been there since the festival ended. So I do not know if the sign is still there. But during the festival they did have the sign. And while the sign was up I would only stand for longer than it takes to get the margarita and pay for it when there was no one waiting. On weekends (Friday-Sunday) there were always lines (on Saturdays during the festival the bar appeared to be pretty much inaccessible - I would go in just to see how long the line was), but on weekdays there usually isn't a line to access the bar.

The sign was posted on the bar. It is also there to notify guests that you cannot order food at the bar, it is for drinks only.

I was there during the f&wf and there were numerous signs and the waiting, because people were camping, was ridiculous but yes Nala, there is certainly no harm in socializing during slower periods, as long as a line isn't waiting ... so slower times is what I'm looking forward to.

I'm happy to report that the staff at La Cava were politely but very firmly asking people to move along during busy times when we visited the last week of October. They weren't even letting people in to the bar without stressing to them that they were in a "to go" line and they would have to wait outside for 20 minutes if they wanted to wait for a table. Hopefully the practice will stay for busy times even now that the Food & Wine Festival is over.

My faith in humanity is restored! I told the manager on duty when we were there, which was the last Friday and he just shrugged and said he could do nothing ...wimp.

I like the Blood Orange Margarita then my damn husband ;) tried the ( I think ) it was the Hibiscus Margarita and it was awesome and I'm not a big tequila fan.
