so i've seen a couple of pics from this place lately on the food porn thread and i can't seem to find out any info about it. i know it's in mexico at epcot. but how long has it been there? is it full service or just a tequila bar with some bar-type, tapas-type food? does any of the food count as a snack credit? anyone have a menu? any info would be appreciated!

We had margaritas...very tasty (wayyyy better than the cart drinks outside...these actually had alcohol in them. ) Le Cava jsut opened last year (2009) It's fairly small place so I can see that it would easily get full during busier times of the year. We didn't get any food, though there was a food menu we didn't look at it so can't help you there. Here's a link to a menu I found on line -- the drinks part looks correct, anyway. http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2009-epcot-food-and-wine-festival-details/la-cava-del-tequila-menu/

This is one of our new favorite places! (We've been known to spend several hours, and several $$$ here!)
We were hooked after doing a Tequila Tasting Class during F&W last fall.
LOVE the ceviche, and the chips and guac.
The margaritas are very nice--as are the non-alcoholic smoothies.

Avocado margarita is my new favorite Epcot drink...yum yum...who knew?

I was wondering how that one might be. Have you tried the Cucumber or Jalapeno, too?

no I only had one, and even though it was $12 it was huge and I felt it warranted the high price. Unlike the tiny glass of Prosseco I bought in Italy for $9 :).

It was very creamy, had a touch of sweetness, the hibiscus salt on the rim was nice with it. Not sure I could drink more than one at a time, but I can't wait to have it again.

That sounds absolutely delicious!:drinking1 I can't wait to try it! Thanks so much for the description!

Do you make reservations here??

This is probably what I am most looking forward to on our next trip. This is the first time I will be 21 in the U.S. The drinking age is 19 here in Canada so it was strange (and slightly tortuous) not being able to drink anything on my last two trips!

Everything I have seen/heard on the Food Porn thread has been excellent!

You don't make reservatios here. Here's a copy of menu.

Yes you can get drinks to go. Tell the bartender and they'll put them in a plastic cup. You can't take the glasses outside.

That menu looks like it's sort of old. They don't have the mahi mahi tostadas anymore. They replaced them with beef "flautas" (that's what the menu says, but they are really taquitos - beef rolled in corn tortillas and fried). I am not so sure the shrimp tostadas are still on the menu either. The shrimp cocktails are.

They don't accept dining plan credits or Tables in Wonderland.

If you can't decide between the specialty margaritas they sell a margarita flight (5 different margs) but apparently you can't get that after 4 PM or something like that.

I was wondering how that one might be. Have you tried the Cucumber or Jalapeno, too?

We were there on Friday, and my DH had the Jalapeno. It was delicious! I'm not even a big fan of jalpeno and I liked it. I had the blood orange and that was fantastic too.

Do you have to be 21 to eat here?? My Dsis isnt drinking age yet, but I see that they have an alcohol free beverage. Or is that just for adult non-drinkers??

My friend had his daughter with him and she was able to come in with us...though she seemed kind of bored LOL

I have been there a few times now and can't find anything about
it not to like. The bartenders are really nice and if you have your
drinks at the bar they can tell you everything about tequila.

Enjoy!!!!

I love this place! I had the Jalapeno and it was...interesting. The flavor was very different, but not bad. But I didn't like it when it got near the bottom and became very chunky with seeds/pulp LOL. My friend had the cucumber, and she liked it, but she called it her "salad" LOL. I had a couple more of the more traditional margaritas and they were fabulous!!!
