La Brea Bakery

If you don't have to eat in DTD there are a few good restaurants on Harbor that have bfast. My first choice is Mimi's, they have delicious bfasts with large portions at great prices. My next suggestions would be Millie's, which is standard American bfast fare, large portions at good prices and Denny's, which is simply the standard Denny's with the standard portion and prices. I suggest these simply because they are less $$$ than the DTD choices, not necessarily better, but cheaper. :) All 3 are walking distance from the esplanade between the parks, simply go to the crosswalk and once across go right for Denny's and left for Mimi's or Millie's. I will say to avoid the iHOP tho.....it is extremely overpriced imo.

We ate at La Brea in mid May and were really disappointed. Both DH and I had dishes based on bread and frankly, if you're going to call yourself a bakery your bread should be a lot better. My croissant was greasy on the bottom and dry (not flaky- dry) in spots and it was just... not a great meal. Not even a good meal, really. The baby's fruit plate was good but there was nothing that inspired us to want to go back. We'll do Cafe Orleans or Carnation next time. Even the Jazz Kitchen Express was better for less money.
