L&M Car Rental

I just wanted to give L&M Car Rental in the Orlando Airport a good review after our recent trip to WDW. While the representatives I had talked to on the phone were a bit short of patience, the end result was well worth any aggravation.

I reserved a mini-van for a weekly rental or $129 (price gotten through Orbitz). I thought that this was a steal. We were given a Mercury Villager which served us well. At the time of pick-up (12 Noon) the Alamo counter was swamped with a line of what seemed like at least 50 people waiting for cars. I was the only one at L&M. The staff there was cheerful and got me on my way quickly. I had reserved a van at Thrifty as well, and was considering paying the extra $50 not to deal with the irritable reps I had talked to on the phone, but when I found out that Thrifty was not on-site, as I had thought, I stuck with L&M and was very pleased.

So, check L&M out next time you are renting a car in MCO. You may be pleasantly surprised.

If there was a one in one hundred chance you get to L&M's counter and they refuse to honor your reservation period, would you still book with them?

There ahve been, not numerous but more than a few, reports on these forums about just that, a very unpleasant surprise from L&M.

One jilted forum reader commented something like, "The L&M agent said he could rent all of the cars for $50. a day because it was Daytona week."

Seashoer CM, now you are scaring me, I just booked with them as they had really cheap rate. Guess I won't give up my dollr reservation just yet.

I have used L&M 3 times without problems. I don't believe seashoreCM has had any personal experience with L&M. I haven't read any recent bad reviews about the company (but there were some in the past).

We too have used L&M on the last few trips because of the low rates and NO significant lines at the counter. Staff has been courteous and we have not had any problems. We're going with them again in September.

I'm sure there have been a number of renters with negative experiences with L&M but I have rented with them a number of times without any problems...so I will continue...So, good luck and remember nothing is guaranteeded....
