im looking at both these hotels and would love to hear any views/experiences people have on them to help me decide which to go with. Its just for myself and 13 year old daughter
There are reviews and photos of both those hotels in the hotels sticky at the top of the page.
both are great hotels ~ the dream castle has a pool and l,occitane toiletries in the bathrooms, plus hot options on the breakfast buffet.
Hi, we haven't stayed at the Dream Castle but we are just back from Kyriad and really liked it. We usually stay at Cheyenne and my ds (6) preferred this (& he loves Cheyenne!).
Our room was slightly bigger than Cheyenne and although not themed it was in a better general state. Breakfast was quiet before say 8 then we seen queues to get in.
My kids loved the little play areas, the staff were lovely and the only negative I can think of is a pretty lame one - my blackberry charger wouldn't fit in the gap for the plug as there was a pretty small space where the socket was so I was without a phone for most of the trip. Very minor & certainly wouldn't put me off (all the other plugs fitted!).
Hope this helps, if you have any questions, please ask
I'd agree with Clare we stayed at Kyriad a couple of years ago for one night and then moved to Cheyenne and felt like we downgraded. There is a kettle and complimentary tea/coffee in the room.
In July we're staying at Cheyenne for 4 nights (unless we can get a cheap upgrade to SL or NPB) and then Kyriad for 3 nights. I did contact Travel Republic the other day to see if I could change the booking from Kyriad to Dream Castle and then decided against it after weighing up the reviews on Trip Adviser.
i feel happy and have booked the kyriad now, thanks everyone. just 1 more question can you register your credit card and get an easy pass like in the disney hotels?
Just wanted to add that we too have just come back from a trip at the Kyriad and cannot fault it ! The breakfast was fantastic - and more than plentiful with hot choices also ( eggs, sausages, beans etc ) and all the usual !
Rooms are adequate and we had 2 buggy's ! 4 case ! - We shoved the cases under the beds and used the aple storage. There is tea/ coffee - english t.v ! And a safe !
Also on the last day we left our luggage in the free storage room which was very secure - using the same sort of method as the inroom safe !
All I can say as a comparison to the other partner hotels ( as ive not stayed in the others ) - is the only downside is the having to get on the very regular bus ! All partner hotels share so I would not pay any extra to stay in a patner hotel when you have to shove onto the same bus ! The hotel is really only a room after a fun day in the park !
I hope you love it as much as we did !
Barbie gave me the vibes to book and im veyr grateful she did !
We've stayed Seqouia and hotel d'elysse as comparisons and would stay in all 3 again happily !
We stayed at both in August 2011 and I have to say that I/we much preferred Dream Castle - it felt and appeared to be a nicer grade of accomodation. Breakfast at Dream Castle also felt much more civilised than Kyriad. So from my personal experience, I would gladly go back to Dream Castle, but woulf hurry back to Kyriad.
Please remember that my holiday was in 2o11 and that these are only my views - I'm sure you'll have a great time wherever you stay
