Ok...so DH and went to PI 3 times during our last trip, and ended up spending the majority of our time at the Adventurers Club! We really never had gone in and seen any of the shows before. I remember in previous years just walking in, walking around, and leaving.

But this year - it was hysterical! :rotfl2: Much funnier then even the Comedy Club. We had a blast the first night, and returned each night we were at PI after that.

Any other Adventurer Club fans out there? If you haven't been there, or seen any of the shows, I would suggest you stay for one - especially one in the piano room. They were great! :sunny:

Love the Adventures Club! Last year when we went we met DS and DDIL and her sister. DDIL got picked to go on stage and be part of the radio show. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Although we would never have guessed it, our DDIL is rather shy in front of a group, when she was on stage she spoke so softly you could hardly hear her, they kept trying to get her to speak louder, she kept trying, but just couldn't! Finally they suggested she put the book in front of her face when she read her last line... And suddenly she found her VOICE! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We laughed so hard, almost fell out of our chairs. Love that place! :Pinkbounc

the first year we went it was HILARIOUS !!! We about peed our pants we laughed so hard :rotfl2: I went to take my BF back a year later and it wasn't the same people and they were not near as funny. :confused3 Either way it is the only way to go when you are at PI :cool1:

Yes, a big fan here!

Last trip was the best by far! We REALLY interacted with the characters and went back several times during our trip. Everyone remembered us and got me and DH involved in many skits!

Can you just go "watch" or do you have to be "involved"? Do they
"force" you participate if you just want to hang back and watch?

There will be 4 of us, all adults- and none of us is very outgoing- I am
interested in going to the Adventurer's Club- but not if we are going to
be "uncomfortable" (i.e. made fun of or center of attention in a room full
of people etc.)?

Thanks for any help!

don't sit in front table rows.
don't sit where there is a WIDE aisle between tables, where they walk down.
when it looks like they are going to 'get' someone look "incognito" like at the floor :goodvibes

you can sometimes tell ahead of time who they will grab, as they talk to a few people in the salon & already know something about them,, or if you start discussing something with them IN the library, you may be a target. I rarely see anyone from the wall or bar seats taken, ( but could have been on those nights)

they don't really pull many people out .. a couple per show.

after a few years of going, you will proably *hope* to be pulled out! you get a really neat pin & memories to last a lifetime!

maybe someone has a list of shows & where at they pick a person.

its a GREAT place.
(don't worry, my hubby was not to happy when he 1st walked in,,, he almost never went back , as he is NOT the volunteer type either,, now its his favorite place,, but he 'hides' good)

The AC rocks! it was the best gem we discovered our last trip there (hehe never saw a post here before our trip about it ever...) we were very glad we went, and will be going back on every trip.

Can't wait to hit the club, we are returning members,

It is the only club i can go to at PI (hearing issues)
all the night clubs are way to loud, but the AC is uber cool :cool1:

Toni

46 days to go! (not that i am counting or anything :rolleyes1

Kungaloosh!!!!

Just went for the first time last month! Loved it! Cant stop singing the Colonels song! My DD4 actually brings me a beer when I sing it!

We about live there when we're at WDW.

ECurto - best way I can describe it is an improv club with a storyline. It's a club for world adventurers, and there is a set cast of characters... they're celebrating open house & new member initiation night (on a nightly basis!), and have shows in the library (such as a sing-along with Fingers the haunted piano), the mask room, the main salon. Some of it is scripted, much of the guest interactions are improved (and the cast almost NEVER break character). There are animatronics in addition to the human cast. Tons to look at, a good bar, and lots of laughs.

AC club salute / motto goes with a hand sign, and song which you learn when you become a member of the club..

Its great fun, as a club it doesnt have loud music blaring, so you can if you decide not to go into one of the other rooms for the shows, just sit and chat and relax after busy days in the parks.

All the salons are great to ,not just the library. It is our favourite place also. Marching along.......... :goodvibes

Ok, in the spirit of fun, we have a thread on our VMK section of the DIS Boards about the AC.
If you play VMK (Virtual Magic Kingdom) you will know what I am talking about. If you don't, well...you just might want to check it out! Even though it is a kid's game aimed at 10-14 yr olds, there are many of us "adults" who play too. Here is our screen shot of the AC last night. We have several members already!

We went twice on this last trip. We always have a good time. My poor DBIL was getting picked on something terrible! (he's a good looking 21 yo)

Oh, we have seen your type - walking in, looking over the balconey, thinking to yourselves "What the heck is going on here?" and then turning around and leaving. ;) Glad to see you stuck around this trip and found out what everyone was laughing at!!! :goodvibes

diznygirl - I am so glad we stayed for the shows! I would have never known how great the place was!! :sunny:

jenny - DH and I were down there during the same dates you were! Wonder if we ever were at the AC when you were there?

Great to see so many fans of the AC! I had really never seen a post on here before!

AC is the only place at PI that we go to. DH & I are not "bar" people at all, so I was a bit leary when he took me to AC the first time. But, I had an absolute blast and AC is now a requirement for every trip. Such a fun place!!

The Kungaloosh drink is awesome, also!

Argh! I can't remember the exact nights we were there. If you saw some poor guy getting hit on by the goddess on the wall unmercifully, that was us.
