Kungaloosh...

Kungaloosh was the trademark drink from the now extinct Adventurer's Club. I modified Disney's original recipe to what I think is a much more palatable mixture. It has been adopted as the unofficial drink of the Fort Fiends. For what it's worth, here is the recipe (FWGuy's variation):

1/4 cup Orange Juice
1/4 cup Strawberry Daiquiri mix
1/4 cup Capt Morgan's spiced rum
1/4 cup Raspberry Brandy or Liquer

put into a blender with enough ice to make slushy. This is one serving. I use a Magic Bullet to mix it with.

sounds very yummy, capt morgan's spiced rum is my favorite!!!

Kungaloosh:

Old Kungaloosh Recipe -- Circa 1997
1 1/4 ounce vodka
1 1/4 ounce Malibu Rum
3/4 ounce Midori (melon liqueur)
2 tablespoons pineapple juice
1 splash cranberry juice

Mix well.

New Kungaloosh Recipe -- since 2000 or so

1 cup Daily's Strawberry Daiquiri Mix
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum
1/4 cup blackberry brandy

Toss it in a blender with enough ice to make it slushy

Note: I made it according to the one recipe with Blackberry Brandy and it was not good. Some day I'll try it with Rasberry Brandy.

I never cared much for the old recipe, and the new one was far too sweet with a full cup of Daiquiri mix, hence my variation. It took me quite a few Kungalooshes one day to get the right combination, but I was willing to take one for the team. Try my variation Flametamr. I think you will find it much better than the Adventurer's Club original.

I can attest to that. I mixed up FWGuy's recipe over the holidays for my family. Yummy. But be careful...we still don't speak of that evening. Primarily because we don't remember much of it.

Here is another vote for ftwildernessguy's version!!! We have consumed more than our fair share.... LOL We did try it with raspberry daily's once when our store was out of the strawberry and it was very good too!!!

I don't like sweet drinks, but if Jim recommends it, I have to try it at least once

We tried FtWildernessguys version but with blackberry brandy. It was good, but very sweet! I think a stop by the Kiwi is a must next October just to see if I got it wrong!! ;)

By the way, the bartender at Port Orleans French Quarter knows how to make a Kungaloosh :-)

CAROL,
Did you happen to get any pics from your resort room ??
Sounded like ya'll had'a great view.

and thanks for the Kungaloosh tip.

Your recipe sounds great to drink. Can we do something like changing the orange juice? :)

I don't think we did, but I will doublecheck the camera this evening.
