Hi,
I think I know the answer to this, but I'm going to ask anyway.

My 9yo DS has a Disney Gift Card. Can that be applied to his KTTW card only so he has charging privileges of his own money?

Also, he will be exploring the ship and Castaway Cay with his cousins so he will need to have his KTTW card with him. How big of a hassle is it if it gets lost? Is it just a trip to Guest Services?

Thanks!

If a gift card is placed on the room account it wil be used toward purchases after any in-room OBC by whomever is the next person to charge. It will be a credit against furture charges to the room.
If he gets lost, just have him talk to any CM, and ask them to escort him to the Guet Services Desk. Also, he can carry one of the room portable phones and you can have the other one with you so that you can text each other. IMHO, I would recommend that everytime he moves from one place to another (IE: Kids club to a movie) that he text you an update on his location.

If I understand correctly you are questioning what happens if your child loses his KTTWC. I do not give my two sons charging privileges for this reason. On our first cruise they didn't charge anything and agreed it was unnecessary. All the food and drink they need is available for free. As far as a trip to the gift shop, they can go with us. My oldest DS ( 14 at the time and normally a very responsible kid) lost a Disney $50 gift card in the gift shop, never recovered.

My youngest did lose his KTTWC on our last cruise after we had just gone through customs an hour prior and they had put a sticker showing we went through customs. They made it clear if you lost the card or the sticker that you could not get off and on the ship. Customs officials were getting ready to leave the ship and even though they weren't supposed to give us another sticker, they did. The card replacement wasn't a big deal, very easy. Of course the original card was recovered minutes later and had to be thrown away.

Unfortunately, no. The credit from the gift card will be applied to the room in general and any charges made by any guest in that stateroom. I don't believe there is a way to "limit" a spending amount on a kid's KTTW.

If he loses his KTTW card it can be replaced at Guest Services. However, be careful if he has charging privileges on that card. You might want to give him a lanyard with a pouch so it's a little harder to lose than if he just carries it in his pocket.

Enjoy your cruise!

I thought, but I may be wrong, that you could use Disney Gift Cards in the shops. If so, then he could spend it there.
