Kroger question

Do they re-stock inventory (specifically the sale items) in the middle of the week? I went today to get frozen veggies for cheap and they were out of EVERY variety that was included in the sale. They were also already out of the colgate toothpastes that would have been 50 cents or free. I didn't want a bazillion... I just wanted one or two toothpastes and then use the rest of my ten items for frozen veggies. But no... So... I'm trying to decide if I should try a different Kroger when they open tomorrow. Thoughts? Experience?

I hate doing that... :-( I guess I'll work up the nerve if they're out tomorrow. Does a raincheck cover the "Buy ten, take $5 off" deals?

Argh. Maybe not. I hate when that happens. Sorry your shelves were empty.:(

Do you think that is why they do this rather than a true sale?

Could be. Hadn't thought about that. I'm not a frequent Kroger shopper anymore, really (out of the way) and when I WAS, 1) I didn't coupon and 2) there never seemed to be anything I'd want many of in the "buy ten" deal. But the toothpaste AND the veggies are part of the 'buy ten" deal this time around... It's stupid. MORE stupid = there was a smaller toothpaste that was offered as part of the deal, but it was 36 cents more. Still would have been an OK deal but I already have a few toothpastes in my stash. I was just going to be adding to it... and that extra 36 cents was a deal breaker.

My Kroger usually restocks daily, but it is possible they need to get a truck in and get the stock in. But, aren't all Kroger stores open 24 hours? I know all of the stores around me are.

The Krogers around me (I have three pretty close) stock the shelves quite often. If they don't have what you want, ask for a raincheck. I went in today for the .25 crayons and they were out of stock so they told me that if they didn't get anymore in by the end of the week, they'd be happy to issue one. They aren't part of the sale, but you never know...they might honor the buy 10 get $5 off price.

I can't go five minutes in any direction without seeing a Kroger (nature of living in the town it is home to)....and here they do restock all of the time. I would think, on their sale and/or common items it would be pretty frequent, and not next week.

My Kroger restocks during the week. I typically can find what I need. When I have had a RC dueing a mega sale... I was required to buy 10 of that same item, to get the $5 off.

Thanks, everyone! My stores (the two nearest me- they're QUITE far apart!) both open at 6 AM so I'm just going to try to be there in the morning. Not right when they open, but within the first two hours anyway. And I'll go to the other store, not the one I was at today. Hopefully I'll have some luck! I could definitely use some frozen broccoli for my little broccoli monster! And who couldn't use a little free toothpaste in their life? I mean, besides the hoarders, that is.

I was told by a store manager a few months ago that Kroger gets shipments of every different category of products 3-4 times per week. If you don't find it at another location, they should get trucks in to replenish throughout the week. Get a rain check just in case you don't get a chance to return to the store.
