I need some clarification on the 4x fuel points gift card from Kroger.

1) If I purchase gift cards on December 9th(last day for promotion in MI) how long will the fuel points last before they expire? 1 month 2 months?

2)Does WDW accept the Visa, Mastercard or Amex gft cards?

3)This may be a silly question, we are considering driving to Disney in our RV from Windsor ON Canada to WDW Fort Wilderness, do the gas stations along the way take Visa, Mastercard or Amex gift cards? Are there Shell gas stations along I-75? We usually fly to Florida so we are not familiar with the merchants along the way.

4)Other than the Disney gift card what other gift card do you bring with you to WDW?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, we have Baker's here, which is a Kroger store (in case regions have different rules) When I bought gc this weekend, it showed that the points are good until the end of January. Ours are usually good the month we get them through the end of the following month.

Our store did not allow VISA/MC/Amex as part of the 4X promotion, DH asked. I buy a lot of holiday gifts through amazon so I figured out what I needed to order and bought that amount of gc. I also know we will use Coldstone & Starbucks this month & bought those gc.

Depending on if you are on or offsite, you could use some restaurant GCs to local places.

Good luck!

I. An only answer #1:They will expire at the end of the next month after purchase ( jan. 31,'13)

There are a lot of Shell gas stations up and down I-75.

What I have done is bought Shell gas cards for the trip. A few hundred dollars in gas cards will get you to Disney and back. I wouldn't rely entirely on Shell since you might get out in the middle of nowhere with a low tank and no Shell.

What you could also do, if you were planning to use Kroger points during your trip. There are a few Kroger gas stations along I-75 which will slow you to save up to a dollar a gallon depending on how many points you have (I think it's 1000 points for a gallon of gas).

In the past, the visa, american express, etc. reloadable cards have been specifically excluded from the 4x promotion. According to http://giftcards.kroger.com/ though, it looks like *some* may work. If you are looking to get those, please double check before you buy them. I don't know if WDW accepts them, but they are kind of a pain to use. Once you've used them once, you need to know the exact amount left to make your next purchase whether it is more or less than the balance. (At least that's how they worked a few years ago when I worked retail.) Also make sure the ones you buy don't have an activation fee or it would basically just cancel out the gas discount.

My Kroger sale Disney Cards at different amounts I got them for my daughter last year as a gift.

We are staying offsite, so in addition to disney gc I got restaurants and Target (since we'll be staying by Target). So, Subway, Pizza Hut, etc. I just looked on Google maps to see what is nearby. We are doing a kitchen renovation, so I also bought lots of Home Depot and Amazon gift cards.

I had 4600 fuel points last month and have 2200 so far this month. We wait until we have $2 off (or the end of the month) and when both cars are about empty we fill them. I figure during 4x fuel points, if we get 30 gallons of gas, it saves us 12% off the giftcards. Earlier this week, we got 34.4 gallons at $1.24/gallon!

I'll be uncharacteristically short- kroger points are my passion but I only have a moment! Please forgive me for not being very coherent with my answer, and I apologize for the lateness. kroger may extend the 4x, I hope so, but even if they don't, it's still worthwhile to get gift cards.

in Michigan target carries chick filet gift cards. Also, stock up on Shell and BP gift cards, then just fuel up at those. there are also Kroger stores and gas stations along i75. On our last trip I didn't make a good record of where they where... I think it would be worthwhile to call customer service and find out. looking online while driving was sometimes inaccurate. But you can always buy more gift cards then, too.

Keep in mind the Disney cards are good at downtown Disney stores - check for specifics.. We used them at the restaurants. earl of Sandwich and somewhere else. If you plan to eat at a good restaurant and spend $$, and you for sure will be going, call them, ask if they accept disney gift cards. Now I wonder.. Are they good for parking at Disney? hmmm....$15 a day.. Check where you are staying - we've had targets near us that had the full grocery side. And many souvenirs can be bought there too.

If you plan to eat at favorite restaurants or fast food, even on the way down, grab those cards. think you'll go thru a few BK or McD on the way down? maybe while there? our Kroger just started carrying BK cards. but our Target has them so I used to buy target then go there to get my BK cards. Our Kroger carries Little Caesars. In Kissimmee there was a LC by us.

But of course only buy what you know you'll use. Enjoy your trip!!!

1. I wouldn't buy the Visa, MC, or American Express branded gift cards because there's typically a $5 activation fee associated with that, which negates the 4x bonus rewards.

2. There should be Shell gas stations along the east coast. It might also be considered Texaco, but the Shell card *should* work because they are owned by the same parent company (Equilon Enterprises) but you can do a search on the internet for gas stations along your route. But, still set aside some money for gas along the way (in case of a stop along the way that you can't find one of the "major" gas stations).

3. Other gift cards to buy. Food. McDonald's, Subway, Starbucks (if you eat at those places) which you get food from along the way.

4. Expiring rewards. Rewards typically expire the month after they are earned. So, earned in December, expire in January.

Shell is fairly common along 75 but I'd have another card as back up. FYI some shell stations offer 3 cents off for kroger plus card also and some kroger gas stations are turkey hill.
