I am starting a planning journal because I need somewhere to keep all the ideas in one place. Currently I have post-it notes and notebooks with things written in them everwhere.

Just a little background, I am Kristine and my DH is Tim. We will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary next year with a vow renewal and celebration at DW with family. We have two kids, our DS who is 6 and our DD who is 5 months. They are amazing kids and keep life very interesting.

We have picked October 16th, 2011 at the moment but that may change if my niece decides to get married that day. Then it will be moved to sometime in December.

We are doing a wishes VR and are very excited about it. We are going in May for our site visit and will get penciled in at that point.

I have a few places in mind but everything looks so nice, I cannot make up my mind! We want a very minimal ceremony and a big *** party after. Here is what we are thinking:

10am ceremony
brunch buffet afterwards
break in the day
cocktail party with appitizers
DP at Epcot

I would love to do the ceremony at sunset point but we have to many people. I think that location is perfect for the kind of ceremony we want.

So my first choice I think is going to be the Wedding Gazebo and the Attic for brunch.

I have no idea for the cocktail and the DP. I go back and forth a million times. I just know that I want it to be an amazing party for our guests.

That is about it for the moment. Gotta run, it is bathtime for the kidlets.

I have been wondering what to do for decor for our dessert party and since it will be fall, I really like this. It is very simple, but elegant.

Thanks! I am so glad that I have a place to put all my thoughts and ideas. Even if nobody read it, I have a place to go where all my ideas and phots are. Like I said, I had papers everywhere.

I am really excited to get planning but really need to get some idea of what I want first. I told my DH last night that I can visualize it in my head, but that I could not put it into words if you asked me.:lmao:

Good lord - I just spent the last 5 days pouring over places for our guests. Since we are paying for everyone's lodging, we are getting 4 or 5 townhomes in Windsor Hills. It is WAY cheaper than getting rooms on property. We have 22 people coming (including my family of 4) and a possible 9 more. That is A LOT of hotels rooms to buy!

We will be on property because we own DVC. I kind of wish we did not have to stay on property, it would be nice to stay with all of them!

Now I can finally get back to researching venues for the events!

Since there are so many people I was thinking that we will do a welcome party on Thursday night. I was thinking of a BBQ type thing at the GF marina.

Kristine

Awww! That's so sweet of you, paying for everybody's room and all.

The GF BBQ idea sounds like so much!:thumbsup2

My wedding consultant Pam just emailed me a really nice list of menu's that would work for the BBQ. I like the chip and dale one with a few things modified.

I took that and went through a bunch of menus that other people here have posted and came up with some really good ideas for all the meals. You guys are a wealth of information!

So I think we decided one more thing, we have been going back and forth on where to have the welcome dinner and it really came down to 2 places. GF marina and Sago Cay. Either one I think would be great. Then DH and I were talking about Wishes and I told him that we would have to pay to have to music piped in and he said "you cannot watch wishes without the music" so to him it was a no brainer. Then we got to thinking, it will be the middle of October when this is going on so.....Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party will be going on as well. We both thought, why pay all that money to have the music piped in when we could surpised everyone with tickets to the party and they could watch hallowishes in person! So I think that is what we are going to do, IF they have it going on the night of our welcome dinner. I think that would be so fun! My family is HUGE into Halloween so I think everyone would enjoy it.

Oooh! OK... can I come to your wedding? :rotfl2:

Now seriously, that's a great idea! I love MNSSHP and they will get candy from the trick or treat trails too, so that's another way to satisfy their sweet tooth. Plus you can all get into costumes and have fun!

I love Hallowishes :thumbsup2 . Great thinking, I like it!

I never thought about the fact that they will get candy there! Totally forgot about that. :thumbsup2Cool, then I don't have to go all out for dessert at the dinner!

I will have to tell everyone to bring halloween costumes but keep it a secet as to why. Or maybe I should just tell them that we are going to the party so they can plan for it?

I think I would tell them, that way they can have more fun planning for it and getting ideas for their outfits. You could even have a small "Best Disney Costume" contest or something and award the winner "Bragging rights" :rotfl:

If they are into Halloween I am sure they will be thrilled.

Oh I LOVE that idea! My family comes up with some great costumes every year. We all love Halloween and decorate our homes like crazy people.

Yeah your right, as much as I would love to surpise them with the tickets, I want them to be prepared for the night as well.
