Kraken and Shoes?

From what I've read, it seems to me you can't wear flip-flops or unsecure shoes on Kraken because your feet "dangle" (Like on Soarin')...is this correct? If so, where do you put your shoes that aren't tied on? TIA

They generally let you place them on the opposite side (not the side you board from) of the platform before you board. Shouldn't be a problem. =)

WOW.. they actually let you leave them and ride without them. In IOA when you ride Dueling Dragons, you must hold your shoes. The say that if the ride breaks down, you need to put your shoes on to walk on the stairways that they have to come down. Dueling Dragons isn't that different from Kracken (other than DD has a top and Kraken doesn't).

Yep, I was just there in May and had to leave my flip flops on the other side. They actually wouldn't let me hold them, which is what I always do at IOA. There were quite a few flip flops and I was a little hesitant about leaving mine, but they were just fine when I got back!

To be honest, I think the IOA Dueling Dragons policy is more because the unload area is not in the same place as the load area. So you would have to walk back up the track to retrieve your shoes. That just begs disaster if somebody walks too close to the moving train and gets whacked in the head.

At Kraken, the load & unload is the same spot. So easier to retrieve shoes and no risk of getting in the way of the ride ops folks.

Also, I think Sea World is a little more laid back about their rides than IOA.. which is pretty rigid on it all.
