We currently have ADR for Kouzzina, but I have heard some fairly poor reviews for it. Anyone have a glowing recommendation or a horrible one to help sway me? Thanks!

I'm not sure what bad reviews you read, but we ate there for supper the first week they opened and the food, service and atmosphere were wonderful. The only thing is that they seemed a little disorganized/frazzled at the restaurant check-in but everything else was great. We can't wait to go back!:thumbsup2

We ate there two weeks ago and it was fantastic!
My DH had the Cinnamon stewed chicken and I ordered the Calamari app as an entree with a side of the lemon brussel sprouts. For dessert we had the Loukamades (basically little donuts dipped in honey and serverd with raspberry and vanilla creme dipping sauces.) OMG SOOO Good! I have been thinking about those ever since we got back:lovestruc

Wow Cathy, those pictures are great. I am not the OP but I also have an ADR there for my next trip. You have made me very excited.

We ate there in mid September. Food was really good, service was great. My dh had the lamb shank and LOVED it. I had the whole fish and it was very good. They did come and cut the head off for me! : ) It was a beautiful presentation. I would go back again, although there are some other places that I haven't tried and would like to try before I repeat Kouzzina's. But I wouldn't hesitate to return.

We have reservations for this Friday night and are looking forward to our dinner there. Yes, I read some less than enthusiastic reviews of Kouzzina, but I also read some great ones. We love this type of food and are going with a positive frame of mind.

It was the 2nd best meal of our trip, somewhat behind Jiko but way ahead of Narcoossee's--Jiko and Kouzzina are the only two that made the "must come back" list. Service was also some of the best we had.

I agree about check-in being disorganized but they weren't busy so they just seated us even though they couldn't find the reservation.

So, do you all think with 2 boys aged 1 and 6, it is a good choice?

I just loved the whole fish - messy, but tasty. Service wasn't all that good though. And it took 45 minutes past ADR time to get seated - not good.

I do not know how it would be for children.

I don't think many restaurants at WDW are not great with the young kids. Lets face it...most of WDW is structured around kids. You should be just fine with Kouzzina. I don't think I would take kids to V&A, but most of the other ones are very welcoming.

Kids under 10 are not permitted at V&A.

I don't have kids so I don't know if they'd like the food at Kouzzina, but there is a typical Disney restaurant children's menu, and there were a lot of children there.

My second favorite meal of my trip as well, right after Citricos. My mother was born and raised in Greece and I've grown up on the food. We both loved every single thing we had.

For appetizers we had Spiro's salad... the feta was high quality Greek feta and was creamy and delicious. Also had the spanakopita. They were a little cheap on the spinach but it was a good combo of cheese, spinach, and phyllo. I think for $8 they could have given you two triangles though. Entrees mom got the pastiscio and enjoyed it. She did mention how there was more cinammon than she's used to. I tried it and LOVED it. I wish I could have eaten all her leftovers but I was too full from my meal. I had the lamb shank and the meat just melted right off the bone. The gigantes that came with it were just OK but there was too much food so I didn't mind not eating them.

Desserts were a highlight for us...the loukoumades were perfectly made and quite possibly better than all the ones we have at family holiday dinners. The galaktoboureko was also very good.

Service was amazing. We had David as our server and he went above and beyond. Head Chef Dee and the other head chef (I forget his name...but he's also Greek) both came to our table to see how everything was.

I wouldn't hesitate going there again at all. And definitely want go back in january when I'll be back in Disney

I ate there last night.

My ADR was for 5:25 and they sat me at 5:15. This is very early for me, but was all I could get.

There were many tables open at that point, by they all were filled by 6.
They probably have everyone staggered so that everyone is not sitting down at 5.
I would say that the meal lasted about 1.5 hours. Disney may not plan for this. So it is likely that follow up ADRs will be delayed.

For my starter I had the Chickpea Soup. It was good but not spectacular. It was basically a minestrone broth with chickpeas and hummus. It really needed some spice. The hummus was also flat and really needed some garlic.

For my meal I had the whole fish. It was excellent. It was a 2 pound red snapper. I get the feeling that it will always be snapper. If you order this I would recommend asking the waiter how large it is. They are planning on serving a 1 pound fish, but they are currently serving a 2 pound fish. If it is a larger fish and you are on the DDP I would recommend one of you get the fish and one get the Kouzzina Sampler as a meal.
I have seen people complain it was messy. I had three different waiters offer to de-bone it for me, so they seem to be on top of that.
It is served on a bed of greens (Braised Greens, Greek Olives, Fennel, and Smoked Chili) These were very tasty.
This is an excellent plate. It is not as good as the whole fish at Blue Zoo, but for a Disney run restaurant it is a breath of fresh air. I wonder how long it will last. It is large and takes a while to eat. This will reduce table turnover.

I also had a side of Sautéed Brussels Sprouts (with Capers and Lemon). They were excellent. I would normally put a lot of pepper on sprouts, but there was no reason two. They tasted excellent. (BTW there is no salt or pepper on the table)

For dessert (I can't believe I still ate dessert after all this) I had the Loukoumades and an espresso. The Loukoumades were tasty but not great. I think they are not made to order, but cooked in advance and reheated. They are served with two dipping sauces. Raspberry and a thick crème (like Boston creme). I had expected these to be like the beignets at Pat O'Brien's in universal. Those are made fresh to order and are amazing. I would not recommend this dessert. BTW: They served 5 or 6 of these. I had seen someone complaining that they only got three or that it was small. They are obviously listening.

As for the espresso I would also not recommend that. They do grind there own beans, but they were not espresso roasted, so something was missing. It tasted very flat. This was the same problem I had with spoodles espresso when it was at this location.

Also with the meal I tried both of the Greek lagers. (Alfa and Mythos) There were a very standard lager, nothing exceptional.

During the meal the head chef came out several times and spoke with customers randomly.
At the end of the meal she came over and asked me how my fish was. She seems very nice and new I had had the fish even though I was finishing dessert so she is on top of things.

Overall I would say it was an excellent meal and I will be returning next week. I would say eat here well you can because either it will be mis managed by Disney or become the next Le Celler with impossible reservations. (probably both)
