KOTW Poll - Are you a borrower or banker

Kicking off the weekend with a fun little poll...

Right now, do you have points banked into next year, borrowed from next year, both or neither....

We've been bankers so far, but my crystal ball, err spreadsheet sees some borrowing in a couple of years, not too heavily though.

Currently we only have 10 lonely points sitting out there...our UY is Dec so they've only been lonely for 4 months...I'll bank 'em into our 2008 points one of these days...

aparently, we'll be "forever borrowers".....
added on twice after the initial contract (400 pts so far), & are finally realizing that no matter how many points we have, it'll never be enough ~ we'll just keep finding different & more point-consuming ways to use them

this is one "problem" we don't mind having though

Another forever borrower. We have 650 points that are never enough. Of course with 5 kids we always have to have a 2 Bdr. And with no vacation time we are only there on Fri and Sat nights which eat up the points way too quickly. I hate weekend points but that is the only time we can go until I earn some vacation time from work. Maybe in late 2009........

Same. We only have about 20-30 borrowed right now though.

We tend to bank points.

Our usage seems to be close to what we own... but once I make my reservations (usually 12 days)... I generally attempt to trade my less expensive timeshares for DVC through II. If the exchange comes through, then I cancel the extra days off of my pre-existing reservations... freeing up points to bank.

We have 22 left on our '07 Dec UY. We'll probably bank them. Of course I thought that we would be banking 48 in Feb & then I thought about our anniversary in May & since we'll be in FL that week, why not stop in WDW for 3 days?? Welp, there went 26 points! But I think I'll definitely bank the rest soon. You know to get rid of the temptation..... Deb

For the past two years we've banked points in June once our summer trips were booked, and then decided that we wanted a little 2-3 day January trip come November!

So, we've borrowed 20-30 points each year - but with the banked points, we've managed to use within 3 points of our actual allotment each year!

my family down in Orlando for Memorial week!

Well, since "ALL 09 points borrowed" wasn't an option I clicked on the "some" button. Really, it's shameful! but we had fun in our AKV savannah view! Truth be told, we have a few points on one contract, but I am WL at HH, so hopefully it will be sayonara to those, too.

We were pretty good until this year. Usually used up almost all of our points during each use year. But then a work screwup happened. We banked 144 points on the last day possible(nov 30 07). We were already going for 8 days in Dec 07 but didn't have any plans on going for another year. But while we were down there we decided to buy AP's. They're cheaper(with the DVC discount) than 10 day, park hopper no-expiration tickets. so we decided to go on my May vacation. So this May we're borrowing from UY June 08 and we're using the banked 07 points in Oct. it starts to get confusing after a while

We go every other year, and the best way we've discovered to do that is by both banking and borrowing. That way we don't end up with a few "extra" points.

We have to borrow some (not many) from our '09 points to go in Oct. for a Grand Gathering (2br & 1br). We always end up borrowing and I agree, it wouldn't make any difference how many points we had, it just wouldn't be enough!

we were lucky to start out with "double" points when we 1st bought in and added on ; it gave us a bit of a cushion

i like to stay 1 year ahead/1 year banked for possible spur of the moment trip

Let's just say I'll never have to worry about banking deadlines...
I've borrowed so much that when I needed to add a night in June, we had to completely rebook a 2009 stay to shuffle the points.
