Konk Koolers

Oh do I love and miss my Konk Kooler... Nothing like sitting at Serenity Bay at 10AM downing your second Kooler...

Oh my, I try to wait until noon. I guess I'll have to reconsider and have one for 'brunch' (or two)!!! ;)

Anyone know what's in it?
Is it a rum drink?
What's it mixed with?

Never mind-
just googled it-
Ingredients:
1/2 oz. dark rum
3/4 oz. light rum
1 oz. passion fruit juice
1 oz. piña colada mix
1 oz. orange juice

Sounds yummmy! :goodvibes

Can't wait to try a KK on our May Repo. :dance3: I think it's best to wait until AFTER our parasailing trip though! Guess what I'll be sipping while eating lunch? ;)

Now that's something I have to try! I am so used to my Long Island Iced Tea that just is so so good until you go to stand up! I may have a new favorite drink....hummmm where is my blender....:lmao:

LOL..long islands are in a class of their own..one minute, you're like..boy this is good..:) the next minute...hey where are my legs:confused3

The more and more I read, I think that this is going to be my drink.. I don't drink that much but that is the plan this trip..

something funny I thought I would share....

It looks like Minnie had too many Konk Koolers as another poster pointed out. :lmao:

This recipe tastes NOTHING like a konk kooler, use the one posted on the previous page.

I disagree with the PP. This is the recipe we've always used. The part that is missing is 2 cups of ice and mix in a blender until smooth - it is 'spot on' in my book. It is also the recipe from the WDW cookbook I have.

Instead of ounces we measure in cups and the blend with the ice.

From the Castaway Club section of Disney's website:

Konk Kooler
This frozen concoction of light and dark rum is the signature drink on Castaway Cay, Disney's private island in the Bahamas, a stop on every Disney Cruise Line® itinerary.
Ingredients
1/2 ounce dark rum
3/4 ounce light rum
1 ounce passion fruit juice
1 pina colada mix
1 ounce orange juice
Directions
Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
Serve in a tall glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a wedge of tropical fruit.

Here's the recipe that we use. We had to tweak the original recipe to get it just right.

Konk Cooler Recipe
Castaway Cay
2 shots pina colada mix
2 shots light rum
1 shot dark rum
3 shots passion fruit juice concentrate(Welches)
1 shot orange juice
2-3 cups of ice

I don't know if this has been specifically answered , but yes, you can order Konk Koolers anytime on the ship - even before you go to CC. The same bar tenders work on the ship and get off at CC to work there.

When I ordered one the second time I cruised on the first day - the bar tender said , "Oh, I see you have cruised with us before!" with a big smile. And I said - yes KEEP EM COMING! My bar tab was pretty high that first day. LOVE ME SOME KONK KOOLER!!!! :rotfl: :drinking1

You just made my day!!! Gotta plan extra money for the bar bill...that we didn't have last time. Neither BF or I drink...So, these non-ETOH version is just as AWSOME!
