Kong softs have begun for the general public!!!

I had plans to do something else Saturday, but I'm so tempted to try to go, especially since my dad was kind of disappointed we didn't see Kong when it was originally rumored to start soft openings in mid-May. However, with just my luck if I decide to show, it won't be happening. Ha!

This is qualtiy fromt he moent you go in, they really knocked it out of the park on it. That video does NOT do it any justice (They had rules against taping so someone snuck that in)

There's nothing even similar to this ride in Orlando.

I am curious to. I have 2 that would love to ride it and be fine. What one would not like is someone in his space and face like I have read somewhere else in the que. Anxious for reviews.

I will be avoiding the bootlegs and spoilers. The trailer is enough to get excited about. Don't need to see the whole ride on a bitty screen before we get to ride it in real life. Thumbs up, thumbs down is all I want. Wait, how could it get a thumbs down? :p

How long does it normally take for these rides to open after soft openings start?

usually a week or two. I'd still venture the target date is June 23/24th (the big media day for it). But after Gringott's got pushed into service a bit too early (and it wasn't at full capacity and breaking down a lot to make a published date) I thinking they have gone shy on releasing exact dates for rides that have totally new tech (trackless truck ride would certainly be that).

Look at the bottom of this sign placed at the entrance of the Kong ride, this means that it will be an Express Pass Line in normal condition ?!!!

Possible, but I don't think you can read anything into that, other than "Everyone stands in the same line for now".

Agree
Don't think they will open the express at the same time the ride opens

Express line will open later is my thought

Would be nice if it was there by the time we get there on October 23rd.

That is put in place to let people know so there is not an issue. There is nothing at the front gate or park map telling you if this ride is even open, so it puts a stop to someone going, well it's not listed anywhere with express.

I went on it again tonight, again right before they shut the line down for the evening (90 minute wait when they did so). It rained briefly and they used the outdoor bypass (trucks did not go outside). Got a different driver this time.

The queue is pretty intense once you get into the indoor part, especially in the "Kong Kong Kong" room. We saw the scareactor this time, and they got the group ahead of us to scatter quite well. The slug animatronic is just before the load. Saw a bunch of stuff I missed on the first ride through, it's somewhat like gringotts that the more you ride it the more interesting it gets. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it is VERY well done.

Some photos from the Queue:

Outside, weather was turning, so they stopped sending the trucks outside.

Got under the covered section JUST before the rain started.

Ahh A/C (Majority of the Queue is in AC we just were in the extended outdoor section, line was all the way to by the Ripsaw Falls Bridge).

Section where the "Kong Kong Kong Kong" chant happens, a lot of people in the line were going along with it.

This queue animatronic witch was extremely fluid, and scary. These queue animatronics (like in Gringotts) are growing on me since you can get a REALLY good look at them.
After her is the part where the scareactors roam.

The slug.. This guy was very fluid and fun to watch.

Shortly after that was goggle pickup and load. I put away the camera after that. Actual ride video and audio quality was top notch, and the Kong animatronic is just wow.
