I used to LOVE the macadamia Mahi Mahi at Kona. Then they took it off the menu.
So what should I order now?
My only food issue is I am allergic to blue cheese.

I have rarely had a disappointing meal at Kona and have tried a solid chunk of the menu. I particularly enjoy the tuna Oscar and the shrimp and scallops, but the stir-fried noodles are another nice option.
This is true, but I always sub the sticky rice for the mashed potatoes. I had this wonderful meal just over a week ago and it was heavenly. The steak with mashed potatoes would be my pick.
I had the Tuna Oscar and it was very good. Cooked to perfection! We also had a drink that they served in a pineapple- I can't remember the name, but the drink was absolutely incredible! Enjoy your dinner!
I agree with CookieDiva! I had the crab cake appetizer and the shrimp and scallops. They were both wonderful! The banana creme brulee with chocolate on the bottom for dessert was also delicious. This was the best meal from my last trip.
I tried tuna oscar last yr and didnt care for it but this yr i plan on going with the chef set menu Im on DDP
duck dumplings, pan asian noodles and kileau torte
or
pay oop for dumplings and order shrimp and scallops and creme brule
or
pay oop dumplings and order coconut almond chicken sub salad for mash po, creme brule
I want to try the noodles but not sure about all the veggies in the noodles..want the chicken but i prefer iceberg lettuce in my salad..LOL
Last week, I enjoyed the ginger-crusted ribeye with broccolini and mashed Yukon gold potatoes and Kilauea torte. My husband was meh about the Tuna Oscar but has really enjoyed the pan-Asian noodles in the past. If you're into sushi, there is a fabulous BBQ'd eel handroll at the Kona Island sushi bar. It was one of the best things we ordered all week. (You can order sushi from the sushi bar while eating at the Kona Cafe.) There are several great options at Kona!
Another vote for the Tuna Oscar -- loved everything about that dish. My DH had the Teriyaki Steak and he said it was okay, but nothing special. He liked my tuna better.
The bread is good, but kind of sweet. I didn't love it...especially with the macadamia nut butter -- kind of a "sweet" overload.
For appetizer, we both ordered sushi. I had the Citrus Hamachi Roll and DH had the Volcano Roll. The Volcano Roll was really good, if you're into sushi!
Stir Fried Asian Noodles are yummy! My daughter loves the Beef Terriyaki Salad. I really do not think you could go wrong with anything here. It is all good!
