Seems like something they're trying starting this month....guess that means I'm going to have to drive up & try it... ..'cause I do love me some sushi....

Yep, it's temporary. They're trying it out to see how it goes over. Won't get to try it this weekend since I need to be elsewhere on property both nights.

It should be open for walkups from now to June 14.

The Polynesian Resort has been testing a new sushi bar, Kona Island Sushi Bar , in the evenings at the Kona Island coffee stand, located next to the Kona Cafe. A mini palm tree barrier separates the area from the path to the glass door leading to the monorail. The trial bar offers standard sushi items such as sashimi, California luau roll, and tuna poke, and also has a selection of cocktails and sake. we went to kona and were there the opening night for the sushi bar.
I do not believe it is premade. My husband got the Poki and he said it was very good. You can also now order sushi at Kona as well.
