So my wife and I are taking a day to ourselves while the grandparents
have the kids.
We have a massage planned at GF Spa in the morning.
We both love Kona. But their lunch menu doesn't have either of the steaks
they offer during dinner.

Has anyone ever asked for a normal dinner item that's not on the lunch menu?

If I asked, think they would make one?

All you can do is ask. But be prepared for them to say no, when you are asking for something that is not on the menu.

Just curious though... if you want to order from the dinner menu, then why not just go to Kona for dinner one evening? You could book an ADR for the earliest dinner seating. Seems like a simple enough solution.

i am hoping for the same as you! I want that teryaki steak sooo bad, but we only have time for a lunch so i plan on asking. I hope they do! Hopefully someone can say what happened when they did ask, i'd like to know too.

Because as I said we have a res. for a massage at GF Spa, by the time it's over it would be the start of lunch and Kona is a short walk away.
And it's our time away. the day before we have chef mickey at 10am
and Jiko at 5:30 so no time there for another meal. next day is massage and we probably would go back to the kids next evening. so lunch is the best bet.

Not at Kona but at other TS places we have asked for a dinner entree at lunch and have been met with "That entree is not prepped for lunch sorry"

You may be able to do it but dont get your hopes up

I agree. I can see that happening. For instance, the terriyaki steak is probably marinated that day and not ready at lunch.

Kona is very accommodating in our experience. Over the years, they have served us several things that weren't on that meal's menu. But if an item isn't delivered or prepared yet there's not much they can do.

Kona has a couple of items that they will prepare on request from the dinner menu, or that is no longer on the menu. We have requested the Shrimp and Scallops from the Dinner Menu at our ressie last year at 12:10. Also, the Kona Koko Puffs, which are no longer on the menu we requested the chef to make for us.
