I have booked WC, but I am alittle nervous about this...I have 4 kids and the older ones are more on the shy side... I can't see them standing up and yelling things out... So I am just not sure this is for us!!!
Thoughts?!?!?

Thurs...Liberty Tree
Fri.... Crystal Palace breakfast, Planet Hollywood dinner
Sat. CRT breakfast, 1900 Park Fare dinner(Anniversary)
Sun....Coral reef

Tues...THE undecided...Whispering Canyon or KONA
Wed... Chef Mickey Breakfast

My kids never do the horse race around the dining room (although they do love screaming "KETCHUP!"), and the servers don't force them. We've always had fun, and I've never seen anyone made uncomfortable. I'm sure it'll be fine!

we took my dad here and he was a bit uncomfortable with all the anticts, but then the server did harass him, i was in fits of lkaughter//!:rotfl2: i told him hes just old! kids loved it.

My decison would be made based on the menus for the two places and which one would be best for my family.

We ate at WCC when the kids were about 10 ord 11 and did not enjoy it at all. We were all tired and just wanted to eat and get out of there and the constant noise and confusion just didn't work for us. I can't remember what the menu was like then but it may have been just the skillet and the kids didn't like some of the foods included. The server didn't push them too much to join in but it just wasn't their idea of a good time. Others think it is a must do for every trip so it really is a personal choice. Now we are taking grandchildren and still aren't considering it a good option. We are eating at Kona in September as this has become one of our favorite places but it is not for everyone either.

Thank you ALL forthe responses... Although, Iwould like toTRY it...I question it for us.. so I printed both menus and will show everyone that is going.

Food at Kona is definitely better than food at WCC.

We've eaten at WCC three times. In 2002, we really liked it due partly do the great server we had who really made it fun. In 2006, we were disappointed in food and service. Our server was very slow and she did not play the game at all beyond half heartedly tossing some straws on the table, and the pony races did not do it for my kids (though they enjoyed the ketchup thing).

By the way, it's very loud in WCC due to the servers yelling for ketchup and banging the tray holders on the wooden floors, and the open lobby in WL. My middle DS did not like the noise at all (that's just him) and he was very ready to get out of there by the time we were done. So if you have anyone in the party who you think might not be excited about lots of noise at a meal, consider that, too.

On the other hand, all three of my kids liked Kona even though there is no action there, so to speak. Maybe after the long days in the parks, they want to just chill out and eat, but Kona is much better for us.

So for us, we've removed WCC from our list for this upcoming visit. But we'll be returning to Kona (which has probably become our favorite).

Both. Those are 2 of our favorites!

Food and relaxing atmosphere - I vote Kona.
Food and fun atmosphere - I vote WCC.

IMHO, you can't go wrong either way. It is the atmosphere that you should decide upon. Certainly, the Kona menu is sophisticated, but definitely something to appeal to everyone; while WCC is more "down-home" . Good Luck deciding. We found that even if you don't participate, the antics can be quite entertaining to watch at WCC.
