Hi, I need help deciding between Kona Cafe and The Wave, can anyone who has been to both places, please let me know what you would choose. I can only do one, I have all my other places already picked out. TIA!

Just got back and ate at both places for dinner. They were both good, but I like Kona much better than the Wave. The Wave prides itself on a healthier menu and I didn't like many of the sides. We were able to switch the sides to carrots and fingerling potatoes. The Kona food is excellent and we have never had a bad meal here. We eat dinner here twice every trip and have had the coconut chicken, mahi mahi, and teriyaki steak

Kona is much more memorable than the wave.
Kona has the Disney feel and special touches.
Kona is also less expensive.

The Wave is a million times better than Kona (dinner)...to us it is like a less expensive version of a signature place

Kona. No question about it. The Wave for dinner was terrible. Kona for dinner is great!

OOOH I love The Wave, but I also love Kona!!! You can't go wrong with either really. Good luck!

We ate at both on our last trip. Kona for the 3rd time and the Wave for the first.

First Kona. As always, one of our favourite meals of the trip. Our only regret was that we ordered too many appetizers so didn't have enough room for another loaf of the fabulous bread. Our meals were fantastic and the service was excellent.

The Wave was our least favourite meal of our trip. Our entrees were okay but nothing special and the desserts were downright disappointing. It was the longest wait to get seated and our server wasn't the most attentive.

Kona will be on our list for next trip, the Wave will not.

I'm glad someone posted the question of The Wave vs Kona. I've read good things about both, and also some mixed reviews on both. Can you guys post what you ordered at each? Maybe there's some good dishes at each and some not-so-great-dishes at each?

Also (random question of the day - not trying to hijack the thread but hoping there will be more info that will shed light on the strengths/weaknesses of each). I've been on South Beach Diet for 3 years, now on maintenance stage. I try to make veggies 1/3 of my meal, protein 1/3 and a whole grain 1/3 of my meal. I avoid white flour, white rice, and white potatoes entirely. Would The Wave be a better fit than Kona?
