oh boy thats a tough one. Theyre both very different experiences. Can you tell us if you are going to disney with children??? Or is it adults only? Ohana has character dining (breakfast only). Mickey/Pluto/Lilo/Stitch are all so wonderful. The environment is so beautiful and quiet. A lot quieter than others. Its a nice relaxed family style all-you-can-eat restaurant. The food is DELICIOUS! Esp the bread and the juice! We love this place a lot. Whether you have kids or not, if you like character dining, this is a nice change of pace from buffets. They also do a song and dance/conga line thingy with the kids.
Kona is a lovely (can be crowded) restaurant. Their breakfast is FABULOUS!!! I love love LOVE their Tonga Toast. Its to die for! The other popular item is macadamia pineapple pancakes which i have yet to try! They also serve that lovely lilikoi juice here too (same as ohana).
i've been to both with my son. And of course he prefers ohana cause of the characters and the all-you-can-eat food. I love both too, for very different reasons. It all depends on what type of restaurant im in the mood for that day.
Our one and only experience with Ohana was awful. Dry meat, too much food (they just loaded it on our plates before we could stop them). The shrimp still had the shells on when it is grilled and they are impossible to peel. Tough dumplings. Unfriendly service. I was so sad...it was the dinner I was most excited for.
That said, we LOVE Kona for breakfast. Never been for dinner but are going on our next trip
