I'm having a hard time deciding between a dinner at Kona or Ohana. I've heard good things about both. It will be just me and my husband, so I'm not sure if Ohana offers tables for 2?

Please give your input. For a couple, would you choose Kona or Ohana's? Why?

We stayed at Poly last time and so did both Kona and Ohana. I thought the food was WAY better at Kona. The food at Ohana . . . think one of those all-you-can-eat Brazilian steakhouse places, but with pretty average to below-average food. That said, the atmosphere at Ohana is better than at Kona. Kona doesn't have a whole lot of (really, any) atmosphere, while at Ohana there are lots of silly games and songs. Not sure if you are into that kind of thing. If I could only go back to one, it would be Kona. We'll skip Ohana this time.

For the atmosphere most definitely Ohana and unlike most we have never had much luck with the food at KONA, so Ohana gets my vote!

Haven't been to Ohana yet, but I just did Kona for the first time last week and everyone loved their food and the service was great.

For the food, we do prefer Kona. However, if you are looking for the fun atmosphere, then Ohana is a good choice. Just make sure to look at the menu and see if you like it since they aren't really any choices except with the meat. Both are good so you can't go wrong!

We ate at Kona Cafe in summer and loved it - the food choices were perfect for us and it was all really delicious.

We like to try new things so we're going to Ohana on our next trip! The menu looks lovely and yummy and we loved the 'family style' serving that they offer!

Agree. Ohana is full of screaming kids, coconut races, limbo contests, marching children, etc etc.
Fun perhaps for a family, but certainly not 2 adults.

Ohana has the great view and interesting atmosphere. I think Kona is more open to the interior of the hotel and like a regular restaurant. I generally choose my WDW restaurants based on atmosphere then quality. As long at the quality is decent, I'd rather have something unique to what I'd find at home.

Have to admit, I am worried about this for our dinner! But I've booked an early dinner (5'o'clock ish) so I'm hoping it might not be too bad???!!! LOL

Hmmmm...still undecided as the opinions are mixed.

Can anyone answer my question about the table size?

Since it's "family style" will we be seated with other guests or can we have a private table for 2?

Just wondering as we did not care for the big tables at Oktoberfest.

worst meal experience EVER at WDW. Ok, let me preface that by saying DD and I were sick most of our vacation but this did not stop us from enjoying every other meal. Ohana was a huge disappointment. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason to the meal. Everything was kind of thrown at us haphazardly. No sooner had what I guess were appies been brought to the table than the big hunks of meat were dumped on our plates. No pleasantries, no " this is pork (turkey, beef, shrimp) would you like some?" The waitstaff barely looked at us, just dump and run. We ate almost nothing and ran for the door. Never ever again!!!!

We had very good food and service at Kona but the atmosphere isn't exciting. We tried Ohana this year and thought that the food was yucky except for the dessert. My 6 year old DD loved the games and singing at Ohana. However my DH said that I should never book it again and he is a big grilled meat lover.

Kona-if only for the food quality. It's one of our fav. TS. Hands Down. :lovestruc

We ate at 'Ohana once for dinner and it was so bad that we haven't been back (though we have for breakfast and liked it enough to return again this year.) Our skewers were tough, they sat the 3 of us at a table for 8 with no one else, and we were too far from the action for DD to get involved.
