Kona or Boma for Breakfast?

I'm not sure if you know this, but the famed Tonga Toast is also served at the CS restaurant at the Polynesian, Captain Cook's. So if that dish is a big reason you want to go to Kona, perhaps you can indeed have your cake and eat it too if you can plan those two breakfast stops.

That's a great idea. Tonga Toast is way too sweet and filling for me but this would be an excellent way to try it.

Okay so... count me an oddball, but I was not terribly impressed with the pineapple macadamia pancakes at Kona. To be honest they seemed bland to me.

Only been once--maybe they were having an off day? Or maybe my expectations were just too high.

Oh no! A third choice, lol.

I didn't know that, so thank you! I'll look into it.

I definitely prefer Boma for its variety and creative flair. I love Kona for dinner but find the breakfast rather standard and limiting. Boma offers unique dishes beyond the traditional fare. Though I commend Kona for its thoughtful embellishments on otherwise basic food -- macadamia and pineapple pancakes, for example -- Boma possesses a wider appeal to me and my family.

We fell in love with Boma for Breakfast back in 2001, it will be our first stop on property when we return in January. The coffee at Kona is really good, but we like the Kenya coffee at Boma. I hope we can still buy a bag in the gift shop. We love to take a bag home and keep it fresh in the refrigerator, when we need a lift, a cup of fresh brewed Kenya brings back all our happy memories of faraway WDW.

After trying the yummy food for breakfast, take time to walk out past the pool and visit the flamingoes.

BOMA. It's AMAZING and would be worth it for the Jungle Juice alone!:thumbsup2
