We have eaten at O'hana our last 3 trips & it has become a tradition for us. Plus, my DH, the total carnivore, would never forgive me if we skipped O'hana! I would like to try Kona Cafe but I'm not sure about eating dinner at both on the same trip. Is the food different enough to make it worth it? Thanks in advance for your input!! :)

Kona is a totally different restaurant than 'Ohana (and a much better one IMO). The teriyaki steak and coconut crusted chicken at Kona are TO DIE FOR!!!!

Boma's at AKL has become our traditation, but we have done 'Ohana's and Kona in the same trip. We had a birthday breakfast for DD, and Dinner at 'Ohanas the same week. The daughter wanted the breakfast to try the ( Banana ) Stuffed French Toast.

Yeah, totally different restaurants. Kona has excellent steaks and the bread and butter is amazing.

My family regularly eats dinner at Kona Cafe and 'Ohana on the same trip. They share a location but not much else. I view both places as completely independent of one another, so I highly recommend visiting both!

Thanks! I'm pretty sure DH would love the steak!

Thanks! I don't think I've ever met a bread I didn't like. Wait, oh yes, I have - one of those grainy, healthy kinds. :rolleyes1

Thanks! The menus look different but sometimes that doesn't really mean much...

yes, they are different. we've done this before on one trip! i love going to both places!!

I know what you mean... Were doing Ohana and Kona in the same week when i go in Feb. Ohana is actually Thursday, and Kona is Friday.. popcorn:: Im really excited about Kona I have never eaten at this restraunt before.

We always do Ohana and will be there again for our trip next month. We are staying at the Poly so I wanted to try Kona while we are there also. Got ADR for dinner. After reading these comments, I'm glad I did.

On our Mom & Son trip back in '08, DS and I ate at both for both breakfast and dinner! :goodvibes It felt like we spent more time in the Poly and we did at POP where we stayed! :thumbsup2

I echo everyone else, they are very different restaurants and I would definitely recommend eating at both!

I ate at both in Nov. 2008 and we are doing it again next month.

IMHO, Kona is better. But, Ohana is good also. When I ate there for the 1st time in '08, it was just me and my mother, and it was ALOT of food! But it was all good.

We actually ate at Kona twice and Ohana's once our last trip.

I recommend trying Kona's breakfast. It is one of our favorite meals.

Alright, alright, you all have talked me into it! Thanks for all your input!!:thumbsup2

We always eat at both at as others have said they are very different.

The only thing they have in common are chicken wings and I am not even sure if they are identical.
