How is Kona for lunch? I have heard a lot about the Tonga Toast at breakfast and the Tuna Oscar at dinner. I haven't heard that much about lunch. We have lunch reservations for our trip in March.

I had the noodle bowl or something. Hubby had the BBQ. It was wonderful. I love Konas for all three meals. If I could I would stay in the poly just for easy access to Konas and eat all three meals there plus breakfast every morning. There is no bad way to go with Konas. Yes I sometimes dream about my lunch at Konas. It was tasty. I just do not dream about it as much as my breakfast at Konas cause I am too busy dreaming about breakfast with dessert. *Licks Lips*

I booked it for next month for our MVMCP day...the menu looks really good and I have always wanted to dry it

On the review boards AngVT is at WDW now and is doing a live review with pics, her and her daughter ate there for lunch the other day

Also, Tinkerbelle_325 has had lunch there too..if you read her posts in the dining review section there should be a review with pics

I agree, you can't go wrong with dining at Kona Cafe. In fact, I choose Kona for my birthday dinner in a couple of weeks before we enjoy Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom. :woohoo:

We ate lunch there in Jan. It was alright, but nothing special. I also remember the service being quite slow.

Have you eaten at Kona for breakfast and/or dinner? Are your feelings about the menu and service specific to lunch or do you feel this way about the restaurant in general?

I've never been to Kona for lunch but dinner is fantastic. Lunch can't be too far behind.

We are trying Kona Cafe for lunch on 12/15 at 1:00pm, for the first time. I have checked out the menu on the allears website & I think I will be trying out the Fish Tacos, those sound YUM!!!!:santa::santa::santa:

We've had dinner three times and lunch twice at Kona.

We prefer lunch.

We had lunch there in September. Great service! The crab cakes and banana creme brulee were fantastic. Fish tacos were pretty good as well.

No, we only ever ate lunch there. It wasn't bad, but like I said, I just don't remember it being very special. I also wasn't overly thrilled with the setting, a bit too open for me. Now one thing that may have spoiled it for us was that we ate at Ohana's earlier in the trip, which we loved.

I usually get the pulled pork along with Longboard Kona brewing Company beer fininshed off with one of the dessert selections. Most people want to stay in the MK and not deal with the security but it is nice to get away from the crowd. Hopefully, most people continue to stay in the parks and not ruin a good thing. Just take the resort monorail or the GF/PR water yacht where you will be the 2nd stop. Upon return MK is the first stop.

I can't speak for the food but I've passed Kona around lunch time and it looks like a perfect place to get away from the crowds during the day :)
