Kona - Ginger crusted ribeye

Any opinions on this? I know the teriyaki strip gets rave reviews, but I don't recall reading anything about the ribeye... Thanks!

We ate at Kona last week for the first time and LOVED the food! DH got the ribeye and it was delicious, so were the mashed potatoes that came with it. I got the Teriyaki NY strip and it was also delicious! We went to Yachtsman Steakhouse a few nights before Kona and felt that the steaks at Kona were way better than Yachtsman.

I got back from a trip on 10/17 and Kona was one of the restuarants we ate at. I had the ribeye, and I must say it was the best steak I had all week - possibly ever. We also ate at Chef's de France (I had the Filet de boeuf grille), Le Celliar (NY Strip), & Jiko (I had the Short Ribs & DW had the Filet) - all three were no comparison to the ribeye.

My wife had the pork chop at Kona, and also gave it high marks.

Ribeye part sounds great but not a big fan of ginger, except Gilligan's friend.

I had it last week when we were there. It was just OK. I think it was a little overcooked for me. The meal was good, but no real desire to return any time soon. However, I had the ribeye at GF Cafe and it was the best meal of the trip. We have trips planned for every other month and when I returned home this weekend, I did cancel my January Kona ADR and replaced it with the GF Cafe. I guess we've eaten at Kona's too many times and have lost interest in it.

I just can not imagine getting anything bad from Konas. It is my must eat restaurant. You have me thinking about droping my bomas dinner ressie for my birthday and replacing it with Konas now. Sigh. I just can not decide on my birthday dinner and you have made it worse. LOL.

Hubby and I LOVE Kona. We were there last week and I had the pork chop... it was one of my favorite meals all week . Can't wait to go back there in May.
