I was wondering how the food is at Kona. We ate at Ohana's last December and weren't that impressed. However, the menu for Kona looks really good! I was going to give it a try for dinner, so I was looking for some opinions! All thoughts are welcome! :earsboy:

We think Kona has very good food and would eat there any time over 'Ohana. The service is usually very good, too. Be sure to have dessert .. it's wonderful.

I had their Sticky Wings. They were really good they had honey mustad sauce and sesame seeds on top. I'm not a big eater and this was enough for me.

For dessert I had a kiddie cone. Oh wow!! Was it ever good.

Ten Thumbs Up!!

DW and I ate there with a last minute ADR last August, after finishing our Wishes! cruise (which departed from the Poly). We were very, very pleasantly surprised by the food and service quality. In fact, what had, until last year, been a Must-Do only for breakfast, is now a Must-Do for any meal. The pot stickers were phenomenal! :thumbsup2

We had the BEST dinner there that we've ever had at Disney. The beef teriyaki with pineapple salsa over mashed potatoes was to die for. Our cocktails, the focaccia with dipping sauce, meals, everything was fantastic. Only bad thing was we had NO room for dessert! Our server was superb as well--a true professional who knew what you needed before asking and was around whenever you needed, but not when you didn't. It couldn't have been a better meal. We may go back there twice next trip. :thumbsup2

We've thoroughly enjoyed every meal we've had at Kona Cafe which has included breakfast, lunch and dinner. I even eat all my vegetables there!

Wow! Thanks for all of the great reviews! I can't wait to go! :cool1:

I have eaten there twice for dinner and it was A+++. I had the prime rib one night, and the veggie spring rolls another (I don't think these are on the menu anymore- bummer). My mom had the shrimp and scallops one night and a stir fry the other- she loved it too! Great service as well.

The food at Kona is WONDERFUL!! I just can't say enough good things about it. Its our number 1 favorite place to eat right now.

Is it possible to see the Wishes display from Kona ???

The food at Kona is soooo yummy! When we went for diiner I had a Pina Colada, the crab cakes, the teriaki steak and the chocolate macadamia tart. Everything was delish but it was to much food!
Going back in May for dinner and breakfast. I can't wait!

The food was good, the desserts were GREAT, but the atmosphere is terrible. The restraurant is loud, the tables are small and close together. I felt like I was eating in a coffe shop. We will not go back for that reason.

We LOVE Kona!!!!!!! Tried it for the first time last year and we were blown away. We also tried 'Ohana last year and weren't really impressed. The food was just "okay", nothing special.

We love the Kona, my favorite thing ever was the Polynesian lunch plate( I am pretty sure its served for lunch only)--I so can't wait to order it again. My DH loves the Macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi. And I have to agree there is something about the kiddie kone dessert that is just delicious!

My family and I ate there for the first time last year, but we all decided it is a must for every trip. Not only was the food fantastic, our waiter was very good as well. Both of my kids order some fruit slushy thing and they didn't like it. I was not about to order another one since that is the flavor they picked out. But the waiter noticed that they were not drinking it so he asked them if they would like to try something else. And within minutes he was back with a new fruit slushy. I really appreciate a good server, and he was very good so I made sure I took care of him at tip time.

We ate there 2 weeks ago and it's a must do for every visit.

It's absolutely fantastic!!!

We ate at Kona last Oct for the first time and LOVED it. I had the Lump Crab Cakes and the Shrimp and Scallops - WONDERFUL!!! The desserts were good too - giant ice cream cone with cotton candy was a BIG it with DS 5.

We have eaten at Ohana 2 times. The first time was in 2004 and we really enjoyed it (this was before the menu changes). We ate there again in 2005 and it just was not as good in out opinion - not bad, just not like the previous year. The meat seemed to be kind of dry - maybe it was because we were there later in the evening??

Hope that you enjoy Kona - we will be going back again this year. We are thinking of breakfast - from the pictures I've seen it looks yummy!:yay:
