Kona Cafe?

I would give it a try; it's a great place! I'd do breakfast (Tonga Toast!) or dinner. The Hawaiian bread at dinner is SO good.

I thought it was ok. The food was good, slightly above average, but not spectacular. The setting also seemed much more informal than the menu and price. As it is so open to the rest of the resort, it felt almost cafe-ish.

Here it is:

our first meal, our anniversary, had pan asian noodles with shrimp, sticky wings for an app, and he had kona salad and rib-eye with stir fry broccoli. without saying anything, they brought us a special plate with happy anniversary in chocolate and a special torte on it decorated:goodvibes

I had told Dis when we booked about the anniversary.

The next visit, one of us had steak and yukon potatoes and
the other the pan asian noodles.

both times, we were given fresh rolls with soft, macadamia nut butter that just melted in your mouth.

those rolls beat out Krispy Kreme in my book:thumbsup2

we had excellent service, and i also had coffee while there.
I will be there next week.

I just cannot stay away. hands down, my favorite place.

It is a relaxed open atmosphere. Just right.

Captain Cook's, the CS at the Poly, also serves Tonga Toast, so you could go there for a CS breakfast and have dinner at Kona Cafe! :)

Do any of you guys care to give the highlights/ quick review of what you liked for dinner?

I had the Shrimp and Scallops and it was sooooo yummy!!! The waitress right off told me if I was a big eater to skip this as its really not a large portion, but I'm not and it was perfect for me. 3 large shrimp and 3 large scallops. There were some veggies that I really didn't care for, but I didn't get it for the veggies. For dessert I had the Chocolate banana creme brulee and that too was so very yummy!!! Its a top for us this August/September

Don't forget lunch! It's so good at Kona Cafe too. Lunch has the added advantage of it not being as busy and there is no noise or congestion from 'Ohana.

B, L and D are all excellent at Kona.:thumbsup2
