Kona Cafe?

I've had dinner there my last two trips, fantastic! It has wonderful food, just wonderful! It is now a must do for me.

We try to do Kona every year. We missed it last year because we wanted to try a few places we hadn't tried yet but this year we will be back at Kona again without a doubt. I would say it's a don't miss!

We will usually do a dinner or two at the Kona Cafe. Food is very good, you will not be disappointed.

We love Kona for dinner. It was well worth it. I would do WC for breakfast. We are finding it's well worth the time to leave a park for a nice meal at a resort:thumbsup2

They have the wonderful Tonga Toast at breakfast but really I'd prefer dinner at Kona. I'd take Kona for dinner over WCC anyday.

For us, dinner at Kona is a can't miss if on the DDP. The service and atmosphere are not the best but the food more than makes up for it.

Had two dinners here. It is a must do for us.

Actually, it is the first dinner ressie I make. :goodvibes

we've had both dinner and breakfast there...excellent food. Dinner we had the terriyaki steak & prime rib...breakfast DH had the steak & eggs, I had the Big Kahuna platter. Yum.:thumbsup2

We've had B and D there - love the dinner more. I liked the Tonga Toast that everyone talks about but had great service and food the multiple times we had Dinner there. The breakfast so-so service even though we had a very early ADR - I would still recommend it though.

My DH is a steak and potatoes guy. I hear the steaks are good at Kona. How are they about putting the sauce on the side? My DH likes his steaks plain. Another question, does Kona allow smoothies on the DDP? I know some places allow it and some do not.

TIA,

Loralie

Do any of you guys care to give the highlights/ quick review of what you liked for dinner?

The Hawaiian bread with Macadamia Nut Butter is to die for!

I love the Shrimp Curry Soup (not sure the exact name). Had a nice bite to it. This past time DH and I split some Sushi for an appy which was delicious, we had it gone in no time.

I usually get the Teriyaki Steak and it is so so so good! Friends we were with had the Mahi Mahi and Prime Rib and raved on those too. My DH had the shrimp and scallops and while it wasn't what he thought (he didn't read the menu description clearly) he still agreed they were very tasty.

Last time I had the fondue for dessert, loved it! This time too full for dessert but eyeing the Kona Cone with my daughter for our August trip. We were looking at menus the other day and she'd like to try Kona too!

We love Kona. It's become a regular stopping place for us.

For breakfast, DW loves the Tonga Toast and I enjoy the Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes.

For dinner, DW enjoys the prime rib and I enjoy the Teriyaki-style New York Strip. Desert...DW enjoyed the Sundae (they let her sub from the kids menu for DDP) and I enjoyed the Banana-Chocolate Creme Brulee.
