Kona Cafe or Wave?

We have one day at MK. I see both Kona Cafe and Wave have lunch seating available. Which one would you pick? Or should we skip both and use quick service to stay in the park?
Travelling with me DS 6, DS7, grandpa and nephew 10.

If the kids are adventurous eaters and like sushi, Kona Cafe could be fun. DH and I had an awesome liquidish lunch with some sushi on side last year. The kids were 8 and and 10 at the time. But my kids love Korean, Chinese, Hawaiian and Japanese cuisine....

But for logistics and non-scary menu items, it's easier to walk over to Contemporary and hit the Wave.

We fell in love with the wave. But that's when we were staying at the contemporary. Was always able to get a last min reservation and had a nice breakfast.

Kona Cafe really wowed us last month. The lobster mac appetizer is huge and big enough for a meal, huge chunks of lobster and so good. The tiramisu dessert also was incredible. Sushi was fresh and tasty. Haven't tried The Wave yet though! Next trip.

We love Kona cafe !!!!......we love the whole Polynesian resort area

I really don’t love The Wave’s physical setting/decor at all, but I love their food and service.

For a MK break, hard to beat the quick walkable access of The Wave and the lunch options just feel more “lunchy” to me than Kona. I like Kona more for a dinner than lunch.

But both are totally valid options, in my opinion.

Both are good choices. But, if this is a big MK day I'd say skip them and stay in the parks for lunch. We regularly eat at both of them (we are local so no time pressure) and they are very good. Its nice to ride the monorail or take the boat to them for a break. But be aware that you're adding ~45+ minutes in addition to actual dining time that you 'll be away from the MK. If that's ok, then I'd flip a coin between the two. Oh, and also know that the Monorail is not currently stopping at the Poly so you'd have to walk over from the TTC.

Thanks for the replies! I hadn't factored in the walk/ride time that would keep us out if the park, in addition to the actual dining time. I think I'm most concerned with having hungry kids and not getting a mobile order time slot ahead of time for QS. I fear hungry, cranky kids. 🤣
