Kona Cafe for 8?

I've been trying to make a reservation at Kona Cafe since March but there is literally nothing available any day, any time for our stay. We are a party of 8 - when I try to search for 6 there are plenty of tables available. Do they not have any tables for 8 people - would it work if I did two tables of 4?

Have you tried calling Disney Dining directly and asking? They might be able to book it for you. I've seen them push tables together for large parties when we've eaten there before. The other option is like you said, booking 2 tables of 4 and then asking if you can sit together when you check in at the restaurant.
