How is Kona Cafe at Polynesian for breakfast????

Read a post here about macadamia nut pancakes..I think it said pineapple???

Sounded great? How is the breakfast there? Service?

Thx.

At least one (and ideally two) breakfast at Kona is required for us every trip! We LOVE this place for breakfast -- probably in fact our favorite of the non-buffet, non-character choices. The coffee (esp. the Kona press pot) is excellent and we've never had a bad meal. See the full menu under "dining" here or at allearsnet.com

Service has also always been excellent. DO make an ADR, though -- it's a popular place, and we found that they might not open at the posted opening time if there are not any ADRs on the books that morning (we eat early, so we're usually there at opening).

Can't recommend this one enough -- enjoy!

We've never been but are REALLY looking forward to Kona coffee during our September stay!

Have been there for breakfast and dinner.
Very slow service for breakfast, and the place was not busy, maybe only 8 tables. Constantly had to ask for more coffee & juice, forgot toast.
Food was good.
Dinner is good and much better service.
We had not done breakfast there in for several years because of the poor service, so we thought we would try again this past December and it was even slower.
It was our last day before our cruise and Brother & SIL were going home so we wanted a nice sit down breakfast for a good vacation memory.
Unfortunately it was the worst and not a good end to a trip.
Do Dinner, would consider skipping breakfast there.

If you are going to eat breakfast, and you are at the Poly, Kona is a nice place to eat. I agree that service is slow. But the pressed pot of 100% Kona coffee is a nice way to wake up. The fruit plate inside the bowl carved out of a pineapple is great (according to the DW), and the Tonga toast is really good.

However, I wouldn't go there if I wasn't staying at the Poly and at this point in my life, with a DD1 and a DS5, we would only travel to a resort for a character B-fast.
