Does anyone know if Kona offers any whole wheat pancakes or items that are more diabetic friendly?

Well if you skip the carbs, there are many breakfast foods that are diabetic/blood sugar friendly. You can get ham, bacon, any style eggs, or sausage ala carte at Kona Cafe.

I can't see any pancakes being D friendly...how about the omelet and sub some berries for the home fries, or the steak and eggs again sub berries for the home fries. Most resturants at WDW are willing to work with you, ask your server, she may be able to suggest something else.

This mainly depends on if you're Type 1 or 2.

As a Type 1, I am able to eat the pancakes and waffles that Disney makes because I just bolus for the extra carbohydrates. But my father, as a type 2 has to watch his diet. If you call WDW Dine and put in a special request for your table service ADR's they will accommodate you. We requested Wheat and Soy for my father, and they fulfilled our requests as we asked. They were very understanding.

Yes but most people with type II also have to watch their fat intake if they do not want to gain weight. Or if they don't like eggs I can see how breakfast would be a harder meal to plan for.

Anything whole wheat is better than white flour but I don't know if Kona makes whole wheat pancakes or waffles. Hopefully someone will know

I had gestational diabetes on our last trip and I ate the ham and cheese omelet. Do not eat the biscuits or potatoes, or adjust the amount you eat, according to the amount of carbs you are allowed per meal.

The steak and egg breakfast would also be a really good choice too! Again, no biscuit or potatoes.

Super!
