Kona atmosphere, is it quiet?

Hi !
We are taking my in-laws to breakfast at CP for mom's birthday, but in the evening we have Kona for dinner. Does Kona have a fairly quiet and relaxed atmosphere? It seems that it does. Just want to have a nice balance for mom's birthday,

I wouldn't exactly call it quiet because it sort of sits out open in the upper lobby of the Polynesian Hotel. There is no outer wall that divides your from the lobby or if the crowds waiting for 'Ohana get large. There is just a railing. A lot of people have mentioned this drawback of the Kona. It is a "cafe" and almost looks like a coffee house sitting out in the lobby.

On the other hand, I wouldn't call it loud and noisy either.

I agree with this 100%. We went there for breakfast and we enjoyed it.
But it isn't quiet.

Agree completely.

If you ask for a table away from the lobby railing, I imagine it being even quieter. We easily had conversation around a table of 8 without a problem here.
