I have a carpet steamer that I ordered online from Kohl's back in September. It was a total impulse buy and the steamer has been sitting in it's unopened box in a closet for 6 months. I was planning to return it at my local Kohl's (I have the packing slip/receipt). Will they take it back after 6 months??

TIA!

You can call to make sure, but Kohls has one of the most lenient, forgiving return policies I've ever seen. I feel quite certain they'd take it back, but you could call before driving up there.

You have the receipt so you should be good to go. Is it still an item that is available? If so you will get full purchase price back.

I was at Kohl's buying some winter clothes for our grandson for next year and said to the girl there.......hmmm, what if he has a growth spirt and it doesn't it. She said, just leave all the tags on, keep your receipt and you won't have a problem. I said to myself "wow". That's pretty good.

Kohl's is wonderful about returns... they will take anything back with tags on at anytime. Now - if you don't have the receipt, you will get the last rpice in their system, which if the item had been clearanced might be very low - and this happened to someone on the Disboards a couple of years ago, she had a purchased some shoes, and two years later decided to return the unworn shoes. She did not have a receipt, so the store told her the value they could return them was at $2.00. The poster was LIVID.

Now - if she would have had the receipt, it just wouldn't have been a problem to get her purchase price back.

I shop at Kohl's often, as I live in the area where the chain started, so there are lots of them around. I purchased a bra in the wrong size (way wrong...I must have grabbed the wrong one - DUH!) I returned it about 8 months later, with the receipt. It took me so long, because I kept forgetting to actually do this task.

Your best bet, with any store, is to have the receipt, and the OP does. They may ask the reason for the return, tell them you've changed your mind. There just won't be a problem.

I once returned a sweater to Kohl's after I washed it, and I didn't like how it looked after that. I had my receipt and the tags - I explained what happened and they took it back, no problem. Kohl's is great, you shouldn't have any trouble.

I returned a few item last month that I couldn't find the receipt for. I told the girl that I always use my charge card so she was able to look them up. Low and behold, I had purchased them last Oct:scared1: I got the full price that I paid even though they had since been on clearance.

Kohls is great. I bought a pair of shorts that I had worn 3 times and it ripped on the seams. I didn't have the tags, but I did have the receipt. They saw the tear and exchange them for a new pair.

As the other posters have said w/ your receipt you should getback the full prurchace price w/o issues.
At the stre I work at people will return clothes they have had sitting around for over a year! but they have the receipt. I have no idea how these people keep track of that stuff.

On Weds I returned a kids outfit bought on 2-14-08. I apologized (i found it after the move!) and they said as long as it was intact and had a receipt they would take it back

Well, I went to return the carpet steamer at Kohl's and had no problem at all. :thumbsup2

But, I couldn't make it back out the door before spending the credit on a new dress, blouse and two bras! I can never walk out of there empty handed. At least I had a 15% off coupon!

I love Kohls! I try and buy my DS all his clothes there. I don't take the tags off until he wears the item. I have returned winter clothes after winter that he never wore, with the tags on them and receipt and never have a problem.
