I have a Kohl's account so I get the discount coupons. I also have a Kohl's giftcard that was given to me at Christmas. Can I use the discount code & my giftcard together or do I have to use my Kohl's card to get the discount?

Depends on the discount code you have. Some are specifically only to be used with Kohls card (at the store) and some are for non card owner.

Now, I have paid with JUST gift card AND a Kohls card discount code online (as long as you have the default card in the system as your Kohls card). There doesn't seem to be any problem with that. I haven't done it recently but I've done it within the past year or so.

Will the GC cover the total purchase.

I always have my KC out and ready to use, They have let me use the GC first and then the KC. I always spend more so never know. I'm sure its not a problem. Probably all depends on the cashier too.

I have had varied experiences all at the same Kohl's. I think it depends on the cashier (and what type of training they have had).

The majority of the time I am able to apply the discount code if I use my Kohl's card for a portion of the purchase. However, recently I was told I needed to put 50% on the Kohl's charge in order to get the discount.

But generally I have not had an issue. :)

I have had cashiers tell me that I can't do that - and cashiers that have done it and not blinked an eye. I think technically - you are only supposed to get the % off discount if you pay with your Kohl's charge card. It seems very subjective and dependent on which cashier you get at checkout.

What has worked for us, when using a discount that specifies Kohl's charge, is use the gift card first. The remaining balance, no matter how small, is put on the charge. As long as you use your charge card, you can use the discount. Kohl's also puts out discounts where any form of payment is acceptable.

I believe u can use kohls gc to pay charge acct. if this is case just buy goods with charge and pay bill with gc.

I think it all depends on which store you go to and which cashier you get, honestly ;)

My experience with my Kohl's store is that you can use your discount code as long as you put some of the bill on your Kohl's charge. And read your discount code closely- some passes say you have to use your charge to get the discount, others do not.

Why not ask the Manager on Duty? Most of them want to keep their customers happy (and get good surveys!). Then you know what to expect before you get to the register.

Like others have said, it depends on the cashier. I've had some that say "let's pretend that we don't know how much is on your gift card/merch credit card and try that first. " If it covers the total cost they're fine with that. I've had one cashier tell me that we had to put at least $1.00 on the Kohl's credit card. I've never had anyone tell me that it had to be 50%. I have used my card to pay for the purchase and they wrote them a check for the exact amount to put on my account as a payment. It takes more time to do that but it works.

I've only had one cashier question if the coupon was issued to me. The funny thing is that if I had cut off the coupon instead of bringing in the entire ad, my name wouldn't have been on the code because it's usually printed above the % off.

I used to work at Kohls and still have a ton of friends that do.

This is correct you can use the coupon and the gift card as long as there will be a balance to put on the kohls charge as well.

You can not use a gift card to pay the Kohls Charge.

You might even get the one who will look the other way and do both anyway. I will be honest I did it a couple times because the customer didnt remember how much was on the card and I didnt want to go to another register to check what was on it.
Hope this helps you!:goodvibes

I had a cashier do that a few weeks ago.

Our Kohl's will let you apply a GC to your carge account.
And - if I get a Kohl's GC - I just apply it towards my account - and then don't have to worry about using it, or having so small of a balance that I do not bother.
