Kohls Overnight Stocking

Has anyone ever had a job at Kohls doing overnight stocking? My friend is looking for a job to save some money up for the holidays. I saw a sign looking for overnight stock help at the customer service desk. Does anyone know what the pay is for a job like this? Thanks, everyone!

My friend works at Kohls from 11pm- 7am, she puts out stock, she makes 8.00 $ hr., but that where we live. I don't know about where you'll at. Why don't you just call them tomorrow and ask, just don't give your name..lol...she likes it ok, it's a job.

our Kohls starts at 8.25 an hour for overnight (7 + 1.25 shift diff)

I've done special projects overnight at our store. I like it b/c there are no customers, you can wear jeans/ nice shorts / sweats, etc. You can use an iPod/mp3 player.

BTDT, not the best job in the world but if she is just looking for a little extra cash then it might be perfect for her.
Our local store starts people at $7.25/hour +.75 shift diff. The hours are very erratic and you are not guaranteed any hours, it all depends on the number of trucks the store gets in a week. This is usually about 2-3 during normal season and 4-6 during a busy season. During inventory week you get none.

A typical night includes helping set up the dock to unload the truck, unloading the truck, sorting the merchandise by department, dragging all of the merchandise out to the floor and stocking the shelves. The job is boring and very physical. You are always expected to accomplish much more than you ever possibly can, they set plenty of unrealistic goals via their special computer program that tells you exactly what time each department should be completed.

It's a job. Not a great job. I have better jobs and I've definitely had worse.

It does depend upon where you live. We had a new Kohls open last year. I started at $8.50. I do the Ad Set late at night, that might be an option for your friend. I usually work 8pm - 1am (no shift diff.). Some stores do their Ad sets overnight (putting up the sale signs for the next day). Our shift diff. is $2.50, but I think we are condsidered in the NY area and that is why it is so high. We don't have overnight work every week, I think that is very sporatic. It does vary greatly. I used to work at Kohl's for 5 years. Our Kohl's started employees out a LOT higher than the one that was one county over because it was considered a much higher cost of living there. And the stores were only 20 minutes apart.

Shift Differential. A lot of businesses will offer an additional per hour incentive for those who are willing to work evening (that doesn't usually apply to retail) or night shifts.
