I've been toying with opening one for a few years for the coupons (30% off that you cannot get without it) are there any other benefits? I never carry balances on credit cards, I only charge things on them for the cash back and pay them off as soon as the charges hit. One reason I have held off on getting one is the cash back is so good on my Discover card and Chase Freedom card. There are some quarters that Kohls purchases get you 5% cash back. I also occasionally get $10 off $30 coupons from Discover in the mail that stack with the % off coupons Kohls sends out.
Can you add authorized users to your account so they can have a card too? Can you charge something to the card to be able to use the coupon and then immediately pay it off right there in the store? (I think I read that somewhere, not sure if it is true or not) so for example, if I add my mom as an authorized user and she has her own card so she can use the 30% coupons, can she use cash and pay off that balance right then?
I'm finally ready to get some post-baby clothes for spring and summer and my son needs a bunch of stuff for spring and summer so I thought it might be a good time to open one since I'll probably be spending at least $100 on clothes. I think it is 15% off they give you for opening a charge, but that would not be on top of a 15% or 20% coupon if I had one from the mail, correct?
I would only use it when I needed to for the coupons. Any other time I would just use my debit card or one of my other cards when they give 5% cash back for Kohls. Would it still be worth it to open?
