So, overall I had a WONDERFUL black Friday experience this morning. Hit Target line at 4:30 for their opening, got everything on my list then was over to Kohls next door by 5:00.
Stunk that Kohls didn't have any carts available which limited my purchases but I got almost all I wanted.;)
One major item on our list that was a Doorbuster item was a 29.99 Ipod docking/speaker/radio/charging station "thingy" : ) Well, they had a HUGE display of them. There were about 5 different varieties of them so I chose one (under the huge "IHome Ipod Stations 29.99 sign") and headed into the HUGE line that wrapped around the store. A half an hour later I was up to the line and as he was scanning my items I was paying close attention and noticed the Ipod station rung up for 89.00!!!:scared1: I said something to him and he said "well, that isn't the one that was in the add", HUH??? :confused3 I explained to him it was on the display where they are all marked "29.99", he told me I could go get another one. I went back and scooped up 4 different types, put them on the counter and said "here, will any of these ring up 29.99?" He scanned all of them and all of them were priced high except for ONE that was 39.99 which he price adjusted for me.
Is it just me, or is this wrong???? I consider that a bait and switch, how many others paid full price for these and weren't paying close attention?
A lady behind me said that she wanted 2 of the portable tv's that were 79.99 and she grabbed 2 after waiting outside in line for 30 min. in the cold and then after getting them and waiting in line for 45 minutes she was told they weren't the ones in the add and were ringing up 150!:scared1: So there are two examples of that happening...........
Oh well, thankful for the deals I did get but tempted to call Kohls on this issue, just isn't sitting well with me.
HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GREAT BLACK FRIDAY!!!:thumbsup2
Lesley

Was it the Memorex miniMove boombox? If so it's great, we bought one for a bday gift 2wks ago for $37. I thought the whole idea behind black friday was bait and switch...

After driving past Target and WalMart due to the volume in thier parking lots, I ventured over to Kohl's. I got everything I wanted (thier computer system crashed, so I could not get anything online).
The ihome system I bought rang up as $49.99. I pointed this out and my friend went back to the display and came back with the pricing sign. The cashier adjusted the price with no problem. I think it might just be the cashier you got.

Exactly why I don't shop at Kohl's. They do this all the time or they jack stuff up so the "sale" price turns out to be what is regular price most everywhere else. I don't even bother reading their ads.

Call Kohl's and write a letter with the exact picture of the item and explain what you experienced. Tell them you are going to send a letter to the
Weights/scale department with your state-(really don't know the name of the department) but I know when I worked at Kohl's they were scared to death of that department with the State of Wisconsin. If the signage did not match the product under the sign, Kohl's received a hefty fine.

If no one complains, they get away with it. Last year, they had the GPS systems in their flyer for $89 and they were all ringing up $119. I was told they didn't receive that particular $89 Garmin GPS, I told them I didn't care, and I had the flyer in my hand. Kohl's policy is suppose to be, "the customer is right". I know they had a very hard time doing that policy, but they did.

In regards to the OP's comments about the stupid carts at Kohl's, I wonder how many people would spend more money there if they had normal shopping carts. I could not fit all my items in a cart today. It was frustrating! I would have looked at more clothing, but there was no way I could keep juggling all my items. I hate those darn carts!

I DEFINITELY would have bought more if I had a cart. There were tons of clothing items, beauty products and home goods (like pillows and comforters) that I would have picked up if I had a cart - another bad move by Kohls.

::yes:: agree, they are so odd.

We got all of our wants at Kohl's for the prices advertised. One of the best in customer service all day next to Game Stop. :thumbsup2

I got one of the docking/charging/alarm things for the Ipod and it rang up 29.99. I think it was a 30-40% off deal. My Kohl's had a sign up showing what each thing would be based on the regular price on the tag. Mine was reg, $59.99 and ended up $29.99. I also got some great shoes for DS15 for $25 and some Fisher Price toys for 50% off for friends kids and a U pf FL sweatshirt for my nephew(why a diehard Carolina fan would want to wear something that Duke blue is beyond me, LOL) The line was way long, but it moved really fast!

As far as the shopping carts, at least you got one. I got the last bag thing and as bad as that was, I can't imagine carrying my things in my arms through the store and the line.

There are never any carts available when I go to the store, and when I am lucky enough to find one they are FILTHY. I don't want to put anything in them especially my purse or coat. The store is also unbearably warm making shopping and lugging your stuff around a nightmare. It's one block from my house and I don't go unless I absolutely have to.:sad2:

If their website had worked I would have bought more from them. I was online at midnight trying to buy a bread machine and a Food Saver. The website was horrible. Even at 4 am I tried again and nothing. My wonderful husband went out for a friend to get him a video game this morning. His friend had to work and couldn't go. So my husband also went to Kohl's to get my bread machine. He wasn't sure which Food Saver to get and didn't get it. But that's okay because I've already spent too much money.

I went in for a knife set 2 years ago that was in the ad ... it rang up incorrectly and the sales associate would not change the price. I got a manager, walked him over to the display and said "See, these are on sale." The manager grabbed the sign and said, "Not anymore."

I have not shopped Kohl's since then.

We had an issue the other day before black Friday's at Kohls where the sign said 11.99 and rang at 12.99. They did price adjust after I insisted they stand by the price and got attitude from the cashier for it. Sounds like a common issue with Kohl's

Try going to the register to get a 20$ game, and the price adjusted right in front of you to 40$. (it was the lego rockband 2 with free guitar at Old Navy). I called customer service friday and they're mailing me a 25$ gift card.

I love our Khols, it's brand new, maybe that's why?

But if the manager would of said that to me I'd flipped, how RUDE!! I'm proud of you for not flipping out on them, I would not go back either!

we opened a Kohl's account last year and almost EVERY transaction--either in store or online has been an ordeal. I threaten to cut up the card every other month..but their clearances are pretty good sometimes so I just can't do it!!:rolleyes1

I would have definitely gone for that customer service 800 # if that would have happened to me (anywhere for that matter!) I had that happen at Kohls before too (they forgot to take the sign down from a power hours sale) but they honored the price (and ironically this happened to me last night at Target and they too honored the price on the sign that was out of date). Usually when you buy anything at Kohls the register spits out that little receipt with the number to call or website to go to regarding feedback about your visit. I would have been all over that!

That mgr obviously couldn't handle a Black Friday, they shouldn't be in that position. Our Kohls' stores in our area have been very good but they are new as there were no Kohls in South FL until last year and being a big Kohls fan I was thrilled to see them open there.

I also can't believe they had online troubles yesterday, can't imagine the sales they lost from that. Luckily my dh found the one thing I wanted at our local Kohls store here otherwise I would have gotten online and would have totally bummed out if I found their site was down. :(

Haha funny you say that, the Kohls we went to , we all commented on how nice it was to be in there because it was so much cooler than all the other stores..

.We got some good deal sat Kohls yesterday, a $60 huge collage picture frame for $13 and then dh bought some tennis shoes last week, they were on sale yesterday for $35 (he paid $40) and he had a 15% off coupon...They rerang them at the sale price, took off the coupon and another item I had bought when we orignally bought they shoes, they applied the coupon to that as well without us even realizing it:thumbsup2

Today in the mail we rec'd 2 (one addressed to each of us) coupons for $10 off anything in the store $10 and up...guess where we're heading next weekend (its not good until Wed)

I don't care much for there regular prices and you do have to watch, but I have hit some wonderful sales at Kohls.

I had an issue with them last Sunday, but after persistence I got what I wanted. I had to return a pair of jeans for my DH that did not fit. I asked for store credit and that was fine. I also had a 10 reward check frain om the prior week. SO I had about 30 I could spend. I came across the batman and robin cave with toys and such. Have been eyeing this for weeks, but could never bring myself to pay 60--supposedly 80 originally--for this item since Target would have it for 35 on Black Firday. This item did say exclusive for Kohl's--and was marked 47.99. WEll I thought this was great since I would only have to pay 18 difference. I called my mom to check the difference between this one and the one the other stores were selling. This one did have more stuff in it--and she also had a 10 reward card. SO now all I have to pay is 8 and tax. Went and got the reward card and came back to the store to purchase the item. Still marked 47.99 but the register was saying 59.99. I was like no that is not right. The lady was very nice and called someone and they to said it was 59.99--again I said that is not right--I moved the sign that said BAT CAVE final price 47.99 to get this item from under it. They insisted it was for the helicopter to the right. I insisted it was not the case. She asked if I still wanted it and I said not until I go see the sign. Walked back there and there were 2 associated holding the 47.99 sign and the 59.99 was now in the holder on top. They said they would give it to me for the 47.99 and they did. I ended up paying 10.70 for the one thing my son wanted. If I had not been persistent to see the sign they would not have changed the price.
