Kohl's 30% question

If a neighbor or friend gets a 30% off sent to them in the mail, can you use it in store? They used it but it was given back to them to re-use as they'd like. I know anyone can use the code online, but we will be shopping there on the 24th of Dec. so there is no chance to have it shipped on time for Xmas (clearly). The 30% off card has the other person's name right on it. Not sure if I can borrow and use it?

How about the Kohl's cash? Must be used by the person assigned to, I assume? I will be getting Kohl's cash for this purchase but will be at Diz for the dates to spend it (return from Diz on Jan 5th, must use cash by Jan 2nd). I can't give that cash to my in-laws to spend, can I? Last year we went to a Kohl's in Orlando area to spend it, but I'd rather not have to drive there to shop when I could be Dizzing.

Yes, you can use theirs. There is no barcode on the mailer to scan (the cashier simply keys in a 30% off button on the register to prompt the discount), so showing them the mailer will work. They won't ask for proof of identity. I let my aunt use my discount once. We went shopping together and I had a 30 but she only had a 15. I went through the line first, then handed her the card. The cashier didn't care, and let her use it.

I once accidentally used an old % off card as well. I had it stuffed in my purse from the previous sale, along with the newest mailer, and when I got up to the register, I pulled the wrong card out but the cashier never looked at the dates, just keyed in the % off code. It wasn't until I went to shove it back in my purse after paying that I realized it was expired.

The Kohl's cash is like a (limited time) gift certificate and can be used by anyone.

Just keep in mind that you may have to use a Kohl's credit card to get the 30%...I don't know if you already have one or what the promotion is right now, but you almost always have to use a Kohl's card to get a % off.

True, but if you do have a Kohl's charge, you can simply walk to the customer service desk immediately after checking out and pay it off.

If you DON'T have a Kohl's charge, or an intent to open one, you can always buy a gift card FIRST, then go through the line with your 30% off coupon and pay with the gift card. Usually when it says "when you use your Kohl's charge" on the coupon, you can still pay with in-store credit or gift card. I've even had a cashier let me pay the difference in cash when my gift card didn't cover the entire purchase, but it was a small amount - I think it has to be under $10 or something.

Speaking of GC's... I saw that Kohl's has Xmas GC's at the front register area for Red Lobster, applebee's, etc etc etc. I assume there is ZERO chance that they would give you a percent off discount on those, correct?

Yes, I have a Kohl's charge. You really can get some good deals if you get a 30% and then factor in the "free" stuff you get with the Kohl's cash.

You are 100% correct, 0% chance of that ever happening, but it would be nice, wouldn't it??

Not sure if anyone else has had this happen but I have almost ALWAYS(probably 90% of the time) had the Kohl's cashier as for ID when I've presented her with my 30% off coupon. Once they verify the name, they just type in the percent off. I've never tried to use anyone elses, but get this....

My DH tried to use my 30% off one time and they wouldn't let him unless I signed a slip to add him to my account.

Don't get me wrong.....I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Kohl's but warning you that you may want to go to a register in which the cashier looks like "Christmas Help" and will not question your 30% code. Good Luck!

my fiance just picked up some diamond earings in store, $250 with a 65% sale at the counter, + 30% off for using her card with the mailer. $57 with tax, at the store.

I have never had a cashier ask me for an ID for the discount. They ALWAYS ask me for ID when using the Kohl's card. My sister has used my 30% off discount before and I've used hers w/o any problems.

I always use my % off and pay with my cc. As soon as the transaction is over, I tell the cashier I'd like to make a payment on my c.c. and do it right there. I've never gone to customer service to do it, since you can make payments at any register. It works out great!

I work at Kohl's and we never ask for ID to use a coupon. We even have customers hand it to the next customer in line! We don't care as long as they use their Kohl's card. We don't give % discounts for the gift cards, ours or the other ones we carry. If you don't have a Kohl's card, simply apply for one and you will automatically give you the discount, approved or not. You can simply pay it off at the register (cash/check). Hope this helps! Oh, the Kohl's cash can be used by anyone, there is no name on it.
