Just saw the news item that Kodak is ending its sponsorship arrangement with Disney. That means you'll soon see the Kodak logo coming off the Main Street Photo shop and there won't be any more Kodak Photo Spots. Kodak was also a sponsor of PhilharMagic at the MK and MuppetVision 3D at the Studios. As one of the original partners for DisneyLand this ends a long relationship between the two companies.

I recall folk-lore that back in the film days some very large percentage of all photos developed were shot at Disney theme parks. :surfweb:

I'll miss the Kodak picture spot signs. Those are very sentimental things for me. Especially since my dad took those signs to mean that you MUST take a picture from that location which, inevitably, had the SIGN in the photo! :rotfl2:

Seems like you will need to replace the WDW with just W pretty soon. I wouldn't be surprised if Kodak no longer existed this time next year.

I would imagine another photo company like Nikon, Fuji or Canon will replace Kodak at WDW. GAF was a sponsor at DL at one time, I think Fuji was, too.

When Kodak was slow to jump on the Digital photography bandwagon, they lost a lot of market share. They continued to invest in film, like the Advantix system. When they started putting their patents on the market, the hand writing was on the wall.
