Has anyone used a board like this for planning?!

Try citysearch.com. I like it even better than fodors! It has lots of restaurant reviews as well as suggestions for shopping, things to do with kids, free events, etc.

NYC is beautiful, make sure you check out Chinatown and Little Italy (and CBGB's for us Ramones fans)

its off topic i know, but i just had to put my own two cents in: dont miss carmines restaurant, in midtown. it is absolutely delicious and they give you enough food to feed a small country

Also off topic, what sort of food do they have and where is it?

Carmines is on 44th between 8th and Broadway. It is almost in Time Square. They serve family style Italian food. Each entree is for many (4?) people. It is a great place to go with a group of people. The food is delicous.

yep, if you are standing in front of mtv studios looking at the building (which is right in the heart of times square) walk left until you reach the end of the block, turn right, and its right on your left past a little deli. I always get the lasagna, which easily feeds three adults. dont miss it!
