If you want to be "on" Disney property you could check out Bonnet Creek. It's not a Disney owned resort, but it is on Disney property.
Just a little clarification on this good suggestion.
First of all, Wyndham Bonnet Creek is surrounded on three sides by Disney property, is closer to the theme parks than any of the Disney value resorts, but it is not "on" Disney property. Therefore you would not have the "perks" of staying onsite (free theme park parking, EMH, billing to your room, Disney transportation from your resort,
MDE,
DDP, etc.).
What you would have is a very nice resort, with a condo-style unit that is bigger than most DVC 2 bedrooms, with a full kitchen, washer & dryer, etc. The amenities at WBC are better than most DVC resorts, and so is the completeness of villa equipment like cooking and dining stuff.
There is a bus transportation system, but it has a fee that has been bouncing all over the place since implementation a few months ago. The latest I heard was $6 per person per day, but I don't know if that's accurate today.
If you drive, you'll pay for parking ($14) at Disney theme parks but not at WBC itself. If you have an annual pass, you won't pay parking at theme parks. Drive time to the parks is about the same as from OKW -- I can be parked at any theme park in 15 minutes from WBC.
Cost
You can rent a WBC 2 bedroom from an owner for an entire week for less than $1,000...usually more like $700-$800. So that's well under $200 per night.
You might check the
DIS Orlando Hotels and Attractions board for further info on WBC, Windsor Hills, and many other options.
