I heard that Knott's offers free admission at christmas with the donation/purchase of a toy for charity. Is this offered this year?

It's not showing up on their website under "Deals and Discounts" right now but it still might show up. They have been doing a Toys 4 Tots drive for many years where, on selected weekends in December, you can be admitted with a donation of a toy with a minimum value or $10. Last year that changed to $15 AND you had to purchase the toy from Knotts.

Thanks. Actually I'm on the east coast, and planning a trip next year. Thought we might taxi to Knott's and get in cheap for a few hours, but maybe we'll just plan to stay at Disney the whole time.

The Toys 4 Tots drive at Knotts Berry Farm is up now. Here's the blurb from the website:

Toys For Tots Drive
December 3-18

Knott's Merry Farm and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve will once again be teaming up to provide hundreds of toys for needy families throughout the southland December 3-18. With a purchase of a $20 gift from one of several merchandise locations in Knott's Marketplace, guests will receive FREE admission to Knott's Merry Farm. Those wishing to bring their own new, unwrapped gift valued at $20 or more, will be given a voucher to purchase a regular Knott's Merry Farm admission for only $20.

There's an option to purchase online.
