I am going to Knotts Sept 18th (it's a Friday) The park is open 10-6. We are staying at the Knotts Hotel. It has been forever since I have been to the park. Few questions:

Given the park hours, is this considered OFF SEASON? Do you think it's possible to "have the park to ourselves?" so to speak?

What are must do's?

Any tips and tricks?

Can we bring in drinks and snacks?

Finally, on the Thursday before, I am dropping off the family at the hotel and running to Disneyland. Will the traffic be GOD AWFUL? How long does it take to get from Knotts to Disneyland on a Friday afternoon? :scared1:

thanks

A non-holiday weekday in September is definitely off-season. It may be a little more busy because it's Friday.

must dos: Two rides very special, if not one-of-a-kind: Sierra Sidewinder and Pony Express. I would also not miss two KBF classics: the log ride and the mine train.

There are several KBF threads in this forum - I would especially look for Touring Plan for Knott's?

Time between the parks depends totally on traffic conditions. You can avoid freeways completely if it's rush hour --- and it shouldn't take more than 30 minutes (15 if all is clear). Traffic is bad going from DL to Knotts are in the morning, reverse in the evening. The Harbor entrance to DL is now totally closed - make sure you head toward Ball and DL Drive instead for the structure ( so if you're on the freeway, get off at Ball, not Harbor). So what I would do is go south from Knott's on Beach to Ball and then just east on Ball to the structure.
