Southern California Knotts advise

WE are taking the kids to knotts dd8 DS 6 both over 48 inches on oct 18 a Saturday , do u think we will need to spend the $ for VIP / fast pass thing they offer? Assuming volumes of people will be low but I haven't been there in 20 years.

Also any good Mexican restaurants between knotts and disneyland you would recommend, our kids love Mexican food. The park closes at 530 and we have a car...
